Stocking Stuffers Your Kids Will Love!
Yesterday I heard that stores are already running out of the best toys for Christmas. While I love finding meaningful gifts for YOUR parents & meaningful non-toy ideas, I also love to find creative gifts that the kids can laugh about, have fun with, and be surprised by… My stocking stuffer list isn’t any different.
What is different is while kids rush to make a Christmas list every year, you can really find unexpected things for the stocking. The stocking leaves lots of room for creativity. 🙂
Really unique stocking stuffers are one of the most fun holiday traditions we share as a family for the holiday. Today I’m sharing ideas & affiliate links to a few favorite stocking stuffers. 🙂
Stocking Stuffers for Kids
Yes, stocking stuffer ideas for our kids are always fun, but sometimes hard to come up with ‘out of the box’ ideas. Especially year after year! If you are looking to be a little more creative than the basics (candy, toothbrushes, etc…) then I hope these ideas spark some creativity for you too!
Ps- Santa knows that we (Mickey & I) add a few things to the stockings every year, so if their little eyes happen to see these things in our closet (the gift hiding place) – it isn’t quite as big of a deal.
Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Kids
-
- Shaving Cream – your kids can use it to draw on the table or spray some in a baking dish and let them draw.
- Letters to each other. Have your kids write why they love each other and let them fill each other’s stockings with these notes before they go to bed on Christmas eve.
- All-natural peppermint Chapstick
- Hair Brushes (I love our WetBrush)
- Letter from Mom with the date that you wrote it. After Christmas, put the note into a box and save it with your Christmas things. Each year, pull the box out and read old letters with your kids.
- An Orange and a quarter (in the toe of the stocking – for good luck!)
- Awesome Chalk-Marker liquid pens!
- LEGO mini set (less than $5)
- Pocket pal mini-Notebooks
- Gloves (12 pairs for $15 – love this for as often as we lose gloves!)
- Reindeer Bell (right off of Santa’s sleigh) with a note from Santa.
- Child/Parent date-night certificates. Have them in envelopes and each month, the child pulls out that corresponding envelope and gets to see what date was planned for them.
- Magazines for kids – we like National Geographic for Kids
- A great book
- Nail polish – love this set!
- Bath Crayons (& even CLn body wash – it’s our favorite!)

Great ideas! Other ideas: stamps and ink pads, the little tablets that when put into water grows into something (animal for example) that is made out of sponge (can’t think of the name), washable crayons or markers, little stuffed animal.
LOve those ideas! 🙂 (I know the sponge thing that you mean- they have them at the dollar store) 🙂
Mini slinkie
punch balloon (uninflated, of course)
hair accessories
cute Christmas sock made into animals (folded like the towels at fancy hotels)
Hot Wheels
Harmonica (and other small instruments)
dated Ornament (maybe something related to the child’s current interests)
oh so fun!!!
-a coloring book in there stocking each year. You can find them for $1.
-at our Dollar Tree (not any dollar store, specifically Dollar Tree), ours always gets the cutest novelty candy
-Hot cocoa/chocolate packs. You can normally get a box for about 2 bucks or so 🙂
-themed snack cake (little Debbie for example has Santana brownies and several Christmas tree cakes)
Awesome ideas!
My daughter is 24, she still loves getting stuff in her stocking. She loves cats and I have found mascara in a cat shaped container and Grumpy Cat grumpuchino drinks. Other things are gift cards for restaurants. Otherwise she never gets out to eat at a restaurant and settles for to much fast food.
That sounds ADORABLE! (mascara)
A couple years ago I did “bath” themed things in everyone’s stockings. Like those poofy things, little bubble bath bottles, lotion, a back scratcher, rubber ducks, etc. My kids are/were younger (2, 5, and 8 now) but they loved it and so did their dad.
Oh- so cute! 🙂 Our son (6) would LOVE a back scratcher!! I need to get that.
Silly string, biore black head strips, Cologne samples (big lots sells them for $1), my son goes thru batteries like they are underwear so his stocking is half full of them this year, AZ iced tea, the quarter machines at our grocery store have tons of cartoon or sports stuff all year long, glow in the dark stars for the ceiling, fun erasers, Got Milk? Flavored milk straws, lint rollers- they also come in mini that fit in a purse or backpack
Silly string- forgot about that one. That’s always fun!!
Sparkle tattoo mini kits are great for the stocking! My boy love sparkle tattoos.
Oh that’s fun!!
we put live theater thicket every year from Santa in their stocking. We have gone to plays, musical, dance, live music concerts. If you contact your local Eagles
or Elks club a lot of time they have free shows to go to.
Great idea!! Thank you!
So far this year I picked up for my daughter (8) hair chalk($10), a mini embroidery kit (of a kitten)($3), and a crochet hook($2) and a small ball of yarn($2). Last year she learned to knit, and I love sharing crafts with her that are also great skills that she can develop over time. rainbow loom bands was another one I didn’t see on her that I know kids have been into. I always find it more difficult to find things for my son (also 8), but he loves pokemon cards and lego. I noticed the smaller hexbugs are about $10, so I may get him one of those too. I love the idea of the parent coupons, I think a small book for each of the kids would be nice for some adventures and one-on-one time. Thanks for all the great ideas!
Great ideas!!
Some terrific stocking stuffer ideas!
Thank you 🙂
Hair bows, sippy cups, swimming mermaid doll
Those are things in our stockings this year.
Brilliant suggestions! I’m a grandma struggling to come up with ideas for kids ands grandkids. Thank you! Merry Christmas!
Thank you! 🙂
I always include mini boxes cereal! That way if they are up early into their stockings they can have breakfast without waking us up! I also include glow sticks, ear buds (they always get lost) and new gloves.
Oh that’s hilarious & smart! 🙂
My mom always put those mini cereal boxes in our stockings and told us they were full-sized boxes of cereal for Santa’s Elves & they were special presents from the Elves!
I LOVE the Kids Lip Balms from Lemongrass Spa! It’s SUCH a better alternative to regular chapstick which has petroleum based ingredients.
I have 3 girls so always do hair accessories, razors, toothbrush, deotorant, shave cream, bath and body works, gum, makeup remover wipes, make up,
