Organize kids shoes

Do you feel like the shoe-mess is always out of control? Lets talk about Organizing kids shoes!
If your house is like ours, there are always shoes out. When the kids come home, the shoes come off. How do we help this? We have four spots for shoes.

Our first shoe organizer is the bench that my husband made when we moved in. Every child gets a hook for coats & backpacks and a shoe basket.

We also have a shoe basket by our front door. Every few days, when it is full, we each take our own shoes & put them away. If your kids are old enough to carry shoes, they are old enough to handle putting their own shoes away. Let them take responsibility for their own things. (Remember- you are raising adults… Take care of shoes now… take care of house payment when they are grown…)

We have our shoe organizer in the garage (rain boots go beside it)

Our last shoe organizer is another shelf in a closet by the bench. In this we store our winter things (hats/gloves) in a bin and we have our “out of season” shoes for the kids there. My husband and I keep most of our shoes in our room, but in order to keep track of our kids shoes (including sporting shoes) we keep them all downstairs.

I hope this helped you to get your things organized. Keep all like things together. All shoes have a spot. All hats/gloves have a spot. All coats go in one closet. They can one or two on their hook. I even put their hats on their own hooks.
