“Time for practice!” I hear Mickey yell out to Jack, who is frantically searching for his practice jersey that he swears he thew in the laundry room two days ago. Yep… football has started in the Mansfield house and football snacks are a must! Between Mickey and our three boys, there is a lot of football happening in our house.
Two to three practices a week, plus a game…
It also means that we watch a lot of football at home. The Steelers & Panthers will be playing soon (we are a divided family… Mickey & I were raised in PA, but our kids were born in NC). Nonetheless, we spend a lot of time with family and friends on Sundays and snacks are a must. These football chips are SO fun and they taste great (sweet & salty at the same time).
Let me be completely honest to say that I have watched Mickey play football since I was 13 and he was 14 and I STILL do not understand it completely. I know a few terms like “sack the quarterback” and “Hail Mary”, but I still ask more questions than I should.
(Throw back picture from 2002… at Mickey’s college game)
Now that I am officially a FOOTBALL MOM, I cheer for Jack and the other kids join in. Allie has become a full-blown cheerleader, chanting all of my old favorites… you know- those fun ones like “Get down boogie-woogie, get down Jam. We are the Wildcats, give us a hand.” In the long run, I am more of a cheerleader than a avid football watcher, but that’s ok… I love him & cheer him on… and that’s all that matters, right?!

Ok- let’s dive right into these Chocolate Covered Pringles – football chips!
INGREDIENTS:
-Potato Chips (any stackable kind like Pringles or Lays)
–Wilton chocolate melts
–Wilton white icing tube
DIRECTIONS
1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
2. Microwave 1/2 cup of the chocolate melts for 30 seconds. Stir until melted.
3. Dip the chips into the melted chocolate and coat evenly. Set on the wax paper to dry.
4. Once the chocolate dries and is “set”, pipe the football laces on each football chip with the Wilton white icing.
5. Let dry for at least 10 minutes.
6. ENJOY!
PS- You can grab a mason jar (like this one) and make your own “laced” cup and fill it with your favorite tea or drink! Just take white tape and place it on the jar. It is adorable and your guests will love it!
