I remember when our oldest child came home from school and put “phone” on his Christmas list. He seemed so young to me then, but he was one of the last of his friends to have one. It’s been years since then, and I’ve noticed that the age at which kids get their first phones seems to get younger and younger. I understand why— we feel safer knowing our kids can reach us, and our kids like connecting with their friends without calling the parents to get to their friends (like we had to do when we were kids.) 🙂

best phone accessories for families with kids

I read a recent study that reported that 25% of children aged ten and up had a phone.
By the age of 12, that number had risen to 75% of children. By the age of 15, the number of children with smartphones had risen to 99%.” (1)

Another study showed that “one-third of teens have damaged their phone by dropping it in the last 18 months.” (2)

Realizing the need to keep our family’s phones charged and protected, I’ve partnered with ZAGG and mophie for their robust solutions. ZAGG provides comprehensive device protection, catering to an active and connected lifestyle. Mophie offers cutting-edge power products, like wireless chargers and power banks, with GaN technology for fast charging. Both brands blend innovation with performance, ensuring our tech is secure and powered up for life’s adventures.

Crystal Palace Snap Case: Guard Against Drops

As a mom of tweens & teens, I know that our kids prefer things that look as good as they perform. The Crystal Palace Snap at $49.99 is the perfect mix: practical, stylish, and eco-friendly, with 74% recycled content. It’s durable with graphene for drop protection up to 13 feet and features MagSafe compatibility for easy wireless charging or to snap onto a wallet.

Its non-bulky, slim design has rounded edges, so it’s easier to grip. Plus, it’s scratch-resistant and is made from anti-yellowing material. As I know from experience, a solid phone case is worth its weight in gold (or at least the cost of fixing a broken screen.)

Glass XTR3: Protecting More Than the Phone

We keep our screens protected with the Glass XTR3 screen protector. As ZAGG’s most technologically advanced screen protector, it outperforms traditional glass protectors by being ten times stronger. Using Eyesafe® RPF60 technology can filter blue light (435-440 nm) to safeguard our family’s vision. It also safeguards against germs with its anti-microbial features to keep the screen hygienic and clear.
The anti-reflective properties of Glass XTR3 screen protectors enhance screen clarity. Hexiom technology absorbs shock without compromising on touch sensitivity, thanks to a smooth surface and SiO2 coating. I also love knowing that it is environmentally conscious, with 30% recycled glass. It was easy to apply to our phones using the EZ Apply® install tray to get perfect alignment.

Bonus Tip: You can level up your cleaning game with the mophie UV Sanitizer with wireless charging. Kill up to 99.9% of Staph and E. coli surface bacteria on your phone without using heat, liquid, or chemicals, all while keeping your battery charged. You can even toss your keys, credit cards, remote control, or earbuds into the mophie UV Sanitizer with wireless charging for a quick clean.

Insider Tip: Powerstation Pro AC will be Your Favorite

The Powerstation Pro AC is one of my favorite things. I call it my “lifehack” or “secret weapon,” the Powerstation Pro AC can deliver up to 100W of power, which means it can quickly charge four devices simultaneously, including power-hungry devices like your laptop. It easily meets the power demands of our devices with its 27,000mAh internal battery. It comes with a USB-C PD port, a USB-C port, and a USB-A port, a USB-C cable, so it works for just about anything… it even has an integrated carry strap.

Balancing a busy schedule means our devices need to keep up without constant recharging breaks. At $199, the Powerstation Pro AC has been a lifesaver, providing portable power for everything from phones & tablets to laptops, ensuring we’re never out of battery, even when we’re miles from an outlet. It’s perfect for a busy and active family that values being connected (both on and off of our devices.)

Charge Four Devices at Once: The Powerstation Pro has two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, and an AC port so that you can charge up to four devices simultaneously.

Kita Grip 360: Connecting Through Games

Family game night has leveled up since the Nintendo Switch came into our lives—we still love a good card game or board game, but Mario Kart & Nintendo Sports have been a favorite recently (despite my current losing streak.) The Kita Grip 360 keeps our Switch safe and sound. It is slim yet sturdy, docks easily without removing the case, and its GlassFusion+ screen protector feels as smooth as glass while protecting against scratches and breaks. Plus, its antimicrobial treatment keeps germs at bay.

These features make the Kita Grip 360 very protective, so we can make sure the only time we yell, ‘Oh No!’ is because we just lost to someone in our family and not because someone broke a Switch.

Stay Connected & Balanced

Finding balance is key – between time on and off screens, practical and stylish cases, and screen protectors that protect your phone and eyes. By integrating screen protectors like Glass XTR3, cases like Crystal Palace Snap, and power solutions like Powerstation Pro AC, we ensure that we use technology in a balanced and responsible way. With these tools, we can encourage more tech-free time, and our devices will be there, ready and waiting when we need them—fully charged and good to go. Embrace balance, embrace the moment, and stay connected to your family.
