How old were your kids when they went to preschool? What is the average age for starting preschool?
SEE THE AVERAGE AGE BELOW
If you even went to preschool, it probably wasn’t daily and you were probably not two. I went to preschool a few mornings a week, but I didn’t start preschool until I was almost elementary school-aged. Things seem to have changed… I don’t know many children that don’t attend preschool. The benefits of preschool are undeniable and I support it, being an elementary teacher. Many people have asked me “How old were your kids when they went to preschool?” I personally waited until my kids were four before they went to preschool, but I know that I am in the minority with that decision. At four, I felt that they were ready to go and it has been a great way to prepare them for elementary school.
I was curious to see if the age to start preschool had changed and it seems it has!
How old were your kids when they went to preschool?
ONE year old… 8% (4 kids)
Two years old…. 37% (18 kids)
Three years old… 37% (18 kids)
Four years old… 18% (9 kids)
