I wanted to post this week’s bundle of the week because starting MONDAY I am going to move from Organizing to “Teaching our Children”  I will do about 7 posts on each of our kid’s age levels: 0-1, 2-3, 4-5 and 6-7.  I have ‘taught’ each of these ages, either with preschool or elementary school, plus raising our own children of these ages! 🙂  I’ll pick some of my favorite activities for teaching them math, phonics and more!  I’m excited about it!

Another reason that I wanted to share this now is because summer will be here soon and did you know that the average child loses between 2 & 3 months of education during these months?  That means that it is like we sent our kids to school for 2-3 months, but they learned nothing.  I remember learning this in college and I just double-checked it online at three different sources and they all confirmed it.
Most students lose about two to three months of grade level equivalency, so we need to stay involved in our children’s education!  (TIP: Put it on your calendar in your phone & have it remind you daily and set aside 20 minutes every day for these.  If you tell your kids to remind you, they will!  Our kids love their “learning time” because it is QUALITY time to them- one on one time with either my husband or myself.  Of course, they like it even better when it means that bedtime is delayed because of it!)

OK- now onto this great bundle of the week to get us started!! Its all about teaching your preschooler.  (Hurry b/c it ends on the 8th.. well, the books are always available, but not at this “Buy one… get FOUR free”  price!

  1. I agree with the idea of having the learning time as quality time because it also allows the parents to spend more time with their kids, even after a long day after work.
