I was just introduced to this smart coffee, which is an instant coffee with a lot of benefits, by my friend, Cynthia.  I am not much of a coffee drinker, but after she shared her story with me a few months ago, I decided to try it.

If you have not heard of smart coffee or happy coffee, here’s some background info…

what is smart coffee?

What is Smart Coffee?

Smart Coffee is an instant coffee that is gaining a ton of popularity because it claims to give you energy (but not a jittery feeling), give you energy in the day, while helping you sleep better at night, make you feel happier, help you stay focused and help you lose weight & shed those unwanted pounds.   That’s a pretty big claim for coffee, right?   It sounds too good to be true.

How does Smart Coffee work?

My friend Cynthia explains it best…
Coffee is the delivery mechanism for a blend of natural and botanical nootropics. They work with your body to naturally promote your body’s own happiness hormones —> Dopamine. Oxytocin, Serotonin, and Endorphins. … Smart Coffee has roughly the same amount of caffeine as a normal cup of coffee.

What is a nootropic? Nootropic is a substance that may improve cognitive function, memory, creativity, and motivation.
Does it really do all of that?  Read my friend Cynthia’s story below.

It was Cynthia’s story that started it all, so today, I am going to share her story (with her permission.)

Cynthia’s Story: Smart Coffee (and so much more)

Over the years, many people have shared with me their struggles of how chronic fatigue, pain, weight issues, and illness have impacted their families and their children’s lives.   I now have increased energy, weight loss, more meaningful connections with the people in your life, and so much more. If this can help just one person, I had to share….

The first time I remember one of my joints dislocating, I was young enough that I remember having to reach up to lay my arm on my mom’s nightstand so she could pop my elbow back into joint. That would make me younger than my 6-year-old daughter is now.

And the fact that my mom knew exactly what to do, would also suggest this was not her first time she’d put my joints back where they belonged.

I was born with a rare genetic disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Though the total list of symptoms is long, the most notable one is that most of the joints in my body either sublux or dislocate completely.

Why? The collagen my body produces is wonky. <—- that’s the official medical term.

Since the body’s connective tissue is made from collagen, mine doesn’t do its job holding my joints in place. So my muscles have to work twice as hard to keep my joints where they are supposed to be.

The result is lots of pain and inflammation. Not just the acute pain from a dislocation (OUCH!) But also deep muscle pain that really never goes away. And lots of early-onset arthritis.

Crazy, right?  I get it. I wouldn’t have picked this for myself or anyone else. But we don’t really get to make those choices. We play the hand we’re dealt.
About a year ago a friend messaged me that she was beginning to sell what she called smart coffee. And she wanted me to try it.

Skeptical of Smart Coffee

To say I was skeptical, would be the understatement of the century.

I had been to more than 20 doctors just that year, including the Mayo Clinic. And as it was, I was dragging myself out of bed to take my 3 kids to school, and coming home only to sleep until they came home in the afternoon. I was in so much pain so long that debilitating chronic fatigue had set in.

I don’t mean let’s-take-a-nap fatigue. I mean I feel like I have the flu all the time and can’t get my head off the pillow fatigue.

But I tried her magical coffee because I had run out of other things to try. I’m not going to lie, it felt like throwing money at an impossible problem. But at the very least, I was supporting a friend’s business that I truly cared about.

I literally had ZERO expectations from my first cup of coffee. But by the afternoon, I cleaned out my Tupperware cabinets and reorganized all the drawers in my kitchen. They were a train wreck — and those tasks had been on my to-do list for about 2 years.

I had forgotten what it was to feel normal.

To do normal things.

To have normal amounts of energy.

The effects of drinking Smart Coffee

Happy coffee has become a way of life ever since.

What are the results over time:

  • My mental fog has cleared.
  • My outlook is more content.
  • I had the energy to pursue the physical therapy I desperately needed.
  • I sleep much better at night.
  • I have less inflammation and less muscle pain.
  • And I spend way more time outside playing with my kids instead of explaining to them why mommy just can’t play.

The side effects of my happy coffee habit?

It kills my cravings for sugar and carbs… so I am also down 30 pounds and counting.

The ingredients in smart coffee help to balance the hormones in your body that literally make you happy… Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, and Endorphins.

The Nootropics in the coffee are natural amino acids that are typically found in protein-rich foods but not always easy to get from diet alone.    (I feel so much more energetic drinking it)

Does happy coffee really give you energy?

Yes!   This coffee is filled with helpful Amino acids. Amino Acids are great for energy!

Do you lose weight drinking happy coffee?

I did.  30 pounds & counting.  This coffee works as an appetite suppressant to help people lose weight, too.  When those hormones are working effectively in your body, so much about your life is impacted.

This is truly a functional beverage with a proprietary blend of natural and botanical nootropics and not just another coffee.

Did it cure me?
Nope, that’s the kicker with genetics. There is no cure. My joints still dislocate and it still hurts when it happens. But I feel far more equipped to advocate for myself and the quality of my life.”

Thanks to Cynthia for sharing her story today!

I know that it is hard, to be so open and honest about her health, and even harder when you are telling someone about something that you know they will be “on the fence” about.  However, her honesty helped me to try the coffee and it really does all of the things that she says it does.   It helped me feel more energetic, happier & less tired.   It’s like anything- when you put GOOD things into your body, you feel BETTER!   (Plus, they offer a refund if you find that it’s just not the right fit for you.)
