The other day, I was riding home from the grocery store, with our kids in the back seat, and I heard someone on the radio say “You have to be present to win… this prize.”   She then went on to say “Isn’t that just like real life?  If you aren’t present in the moment, you won’t win at anything in life.”

you have to be present to win

Take that quote and apply it to your life.  You have to be present to win.  If you aren’t present in your marriage, you are not going to win.   How can you have a strong marriage if you aren’t present… if you aren’t all there.    Give it the effort that it deserves.   Do you hug and kiss your spouse when they leave and come back home?   Do you tell your spouse that you love them, just out of the blue?   Are you putting everything else aside to just be present when you are with your spouse?

Take that quote and apply it to your kids.  You have to be present to win. If you aren’t present in their lives, won’t they know it?   If you are not looking up from the computer or your work to look at them when they talk- they can feel it.  They can tell that we aren’t paying attention to them.  If we tell them that we can’t lie down with them at night because have other things to do, they know it.   They feel ‘pushed down on our list’.

Take that quote and apply it to your friends. You have to be present to win. How often do you talk to someone on the phone and you know that they are doing something else?   You can tell that they are distracted- online or watching TV or taking to someone else.   How does that make you feel?  Don’t be the one that is being distracted- be present… to win.

In everything that you do, try to remember that you have to be present to win.  You (and the ones that you love) won’t get as much fulfillment from life if everyone and everything just gets just a little bit of you and your attention.   Put your heart and soul into everything that you do.  Do everything that you do with a mission.

I saw this quote yesterday and loved it…

SET A GOAL

Remember: “Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you, Cause he made you to do every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face. “
