I loved this spin on the classic lasagna and wanted to share it with you.
My Mom & my Aunt both make great lasagna. My Great-Grandma, Geraldine was an Irish women that married my grandfather, Guyton Luigi. She learned to cook great Italian food for her family. My Great-Grandfather used to tell her that she could cook “Better than any Italian Woman”.
I can remember going to her house when I was little to eat her Italian meals… meatballs (with raisins in them), spaghetti and lasagna. I still love to eat Italian food and luckily, my family does, too. My husband has told me that he could eat Italian every night, so if we have spaghetti two nights in one week, that works for our family.
Lasagna is something that I love to cook because it is not hard to make, looks great and everyone (kids included) love this meal. Plus, we usually have left-overs (unless my parents, brother, sister in law, neice and nephew join us for dinner… the 12 of us will certainly eat up a full dish of lasagna in one sitting!)
I am spicing things up a bit and making Lasagna Formaggio tonight (the kids are helping!) and I am going to share it with you. This meal is under $1.50 per serving so you really can’t go wrong with it. Tastes great, easy to make and the right price!
Here is the recipe that I followed- this screenshot is taken right from the McCormick.com website for you:
REMINDER: This is a key ingredient (it doesn’t taste nearly as good without garlic powder)
