It is almost that time… prom!  My brother is a Vice Principal at a local high school and he said that everyone is already talking about it.   Spring is a time for hope & fun & fashion, isn’t it?  This sponsored post by jenjenhouse came just in time because I am excited to share my tips for you…  coming from my own prom and what I hope I will do when our daughter goes to prom…

tips for sending your daughter to prom

I wanted to share some tips for sending your daughter to prom:

1- DATES:  If your daughter does not have a date, let her know that is is very common to go in a group!  If I weren’t dating my husband in high school (we were married the year that we graduated from college), I would have had a blast going in a group to the prom!  You pretty much end up that way, anyways.  I think my two best fiends (Sarah & Angela) and I hung out together for most of the prom anyways- luckily our dates were friends, too!

2- FLOWERS- Remind your daughter that it is polite (& romantic) to be gifted a corsage, so wear it proudly!  I remember when my husband gave me one with a little teddy bear on it.  I was so embarrassed… oh my!  Looking back, it was a sweet little gesture & I should have been more thankful & less judging!  (I was 15 at the time, so have a little grace when reading this selfish confession. haha!)

3-  MONEY– always make sure that your child has money in case he/she needs it.   A $20 tucked into the back of their iPhone case is always a good idea.

4- DRESS SHOPPING- dress shopping is so much fun!  Be sure to let your daughter pick out a dress that works for her (that you approve!)
Let her look around and encourage her to try out some colors- I was a black & white dress girl, but I loved the one pink dress that I had!
Here is a dress that I wouldn’t have thought to try on, but look at how beautiful it is (this dress if from jenjenhouse.com

5. PICTURES– take pictures!   Your child will want to look back on these one day!
Encourage her to send you pictures throughout the night via text.

6. Remind her how very beautiful she looks tonight!

Hi there!
