As the world is home a lot more these days, we’ve noticed the trend of “house shoes” going up & up! I’ve always been a “house-shoe” kind of girl. Yes, walking barefoot can make you smarter, but sometimes you just need more support.
House slippers are a nice alternative if you find the right one for you (I really only like to wear the ones that look like ballet slippers), but house shoes have always worked well for me. I kick off my shoes when I come inside & slip-on my other shoes, but these ones don’t go outside. They are my indoor-only shoes.
While some of us have a “no shoes in the house” and others of us have an “anything goes” type of house… this is the perfect mix. It saves our feet from being on the hard ground, and we don’t feel like we are hanging out in slippers all day long.
As I said, I’ve been following this trend for as long as I can remember. (I stock up on those dollar-flip-flops every time that Old Navy has a $1 flip-flop sale! 🙂 I have several pairs of shoes (flip flops & slip-on shoes) that I wear in the house. They are like my “slippers” but I like them so much more… they are more supportive and they make me feel like I’m ready for the day (unlike slippers that make me feel like I’m ready for bed).
A friend and I were talking last week and she told me that she has three pairs of Birkenstocks… she bought them all in the same month. She, like myself, walks into the house and kicks off one pair of shoes just to slide on the house pair.
