quick dinner before sports
Our nights are filled with activities. Mostly football.

My husband is the coach and our sons play on his team. They all love it and I like to watch, but it certainly throws a little wrench into our calm evenings.  Today I am going to give you my 5 favorite foods to make and eat quickly before heading off to your next sport.
1. Pizza

Ellio’s Pizza is a quick and easy meal idea. It cooks in just minutes in the toaster oven and is ready to go. The kids love it because of the real mozzarella cheese and crispy crust. You can find it here: Ellio’s Pizza Store Locator

I like to give it to them before practice or a game because it is made with 100% real ingredients and no artificial flavors. Plus, all of the kids like it…

2. Banana bread.  You can find my banana bread recipe here. This is so good and the kids love it! It is a good snack before a game or practice if you don’t want anything too filling.  You could add protein powder to it, too, like this recipe.

3. Chicken & salsa in the slow cooker
There is a little more to it than that, but that about covers it! The kids love to use chips to scoop it (or they can eat it in a bowl with a fork, like below), so it is fun and pretty easy to make.  Plus, you cook it during the day, so if one has a game at 5 and one at 7, they can eat when they are ready. You can find the recipe here.

4. I love to make my PB banana muffins because these ones are high in protein. They have peanut butter and a scoop of protein powder, so they are perfect right before a game or practice, where I know that they will need the added energy.

5. Cut-up grilled cheese – Southern style. I love grilled cheese as much as the kids and it doesn’t take much time.   You can pair it with some sliced carrots for a quick meal. A close up of a grilled cheese sandwich with text above it.

I hope that these helped! Our go-to meal is pizza because the kids love it, but all of them are great!
