I was just at the park today, and I was talking to a friend about ways to make money from home- being our own bosses.   We were talking about how hard it is to work when you have kids (we are both play therapists), trying to work around their schedules and your own.  Earning money or cash-back is the goal, so we came up with 5 ways to achieve it!

1- Use rewards programs!
This sounds easy enough, right?   How many of you are doing it?   I honestly just started doing this in the past month.   Lets take Bing Rewards.   It lets you earn credits for searching on Bing or trying new features from Bing or other Microsoft products and services. Bing Rewards credits can be redeemed for a variety of rewards (Shopping, Dining, Gaming and Charities.)   Plus, I love that every 7-8 weeks, they have a giveaway (example: $500 to Nordstrom or Gamestop)

Join Bing Rewards for FREE and earn credits for using Bing to search the web.
Redeem credits for popular gift cards, sweepstake entries or charitable donations.
Get 20 BONUS CREDITS when you sign in with your existing Microsoft account (Outlook, Live, Skype, Hotmail or Xbox accounts), or create a new Microsoft account.
Continue to search every day to earn more credits that can be redeemed for more sweepstakes entries, shopping gift cards, and even donations to charities.

2.  Become an editor.  I am trying to talk my sister in law into doing this!   She edited my Potty Train in a Weekend book and she made changes that didn’t even dawn on me!   You can sign up on pages like Fiverr.com or just join some Facebook groups that are specific to bloggers, authors or editors.

3. Sell your gently used things! 
Here are some of my favorite places to sell online:
VarageSale
Craigslist
Local mommy groups (you can do a local search for these)
Copious (sell clothes)
Threadflip (sell clothes)
Etsy – make your own products to sell online!

4- Write a book and upload it to Amazon.com 
Did you know that you can do this?  YOU CAN!   You can write a book and self-publish it onto Amazon.   You just want to be sure that it is up to your standards, because if you get a ‘bad review’, it cannot be undone.   Take your time and write a great book book!   Decide what you want to charge and go for it!

5. Do work for others
Sign up at something like TaskRabbit – it lets you pick up odd jobs for people (example: going grocery shopping for them or de-cluttering a room, even assembling furniture)
Use DogVacay to take care of other people’s dogs.
Try out Lyft and offer rides to other people (they pay you for it!)

There are many ways to make money at home, you just have to get creative!  Above all, start with the easy ones, like signing up for Bing Rewards and some of these other programs!
