Supplements for immune support and speech delays.  THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST.  I JUST WANT TO SHARE IT WITH YOU BECAUSE IT WORKED FOR US.

Speech Delay

I wanted to share this supplement that I SWEAR BY is Balanced Essential for our kids.
Our neurologist (our son’s neurologist) is known for being the best in the area – he helps children will all sorts of neurologic issues. He has over a year waiting list and is currently not even taking new patients, but we happened to get in four years ago when he had an opening.

He has helped us through a LOT of issues that we were dealing with with our son. He refereed us to surgeons that have been wonderful, therapists that have made a world of difference, and he even answers my e-mails when I have a quick question!

So, when our son was going down-hill, due to his poor nutrition (he could not tolerate any food and his body literally resisted it- see that story here), started having sensory issues and had a speech delay, he told us to try this vitamin supplement: Balanced Essentials.

He said that lack of nutrition and vitamins can cause all of those things.

He also told me NOT to use the store-bought chewable vitamins that everyone gets because many of them don’t get absorbed properly and they contain dyes & additives, which is not good for our children’s growing bodies and brains. I did find a chewable alternative that fit the criteria of what we needed in a vitamin (because the Balanced Essentials tastes like the vitamins they took as infants)

He also told us to start juicing, too, which we try to do daily. We bought this juicer…  (because it was pretty inexpensive & does a great job)

We buy the day-old fruit at Harris Teeter or produce at Aldis, bring it home & make juice. Juicing can get expensive, but it is a quick way to get spinach and other fruits and vegetables into our kids. (Add apples and it will make everything taste good!)

Back to Balanced Essentials: it has everything that kids would be getting IF they eat a very balanced diet. (It is great for grown-ups, too)
This Balanced Essesntials has:
• 94 Vital Nutrients
• 12 Natural Vitamins
• 17 Amino Acids
• Omega 3,6,9
• 62 Major & Trace Minerals
• 10 Phytonutrient Rich Plants

I give it to all of our kids now (he told us to do 1 ounce a day per child, but please follow the directions on the bottle & check with your pediatrian first). We saw immediate results from this vitamin. Our son’s speech picked up so quickly that we were amazed- he was going to get speech therapy & after this he didn’t need it anymore. Really! (Again, his body rejected EVERY food and drink for years.

It is amazing that his body could even sustain itself). His muscles became less tense (he has something called Hypertonia- Increased muscle tone). It has been fantastic for him and for all of our kids.

It gives me a peace of mind when they only eat one bite of vegetables at dinner, instead of all of it (or 1 pea- if you are our two-year old!)

I tell everyone about it! If your child is picky or if you notice any sort of delay, this worked wonders and I order it (I currently have two bottles in our fridge- so that we don’t run out!)

Balanced Essentials

I keep two in my refrigerator because I do not want to run out! It was expensive to get two bottles at once but you get MUCH more for your money because it is a big bottle and lasts for months. The kids line up to take it – our two year old calls it his “Spidermans” (Too hard to say Vitamins, I guess! haha!)

  1. Hi, I came across this page when I was researching BE. We just got ours today for my 4 year old who has apraxia. Just wondering if the 1 oz per day dose is what you recommend (or what your children took at this age). Thanks for the VERY informative post. I can’t wait to start these vitamins.. My daughter is excited too ?

    1. This is what our doctor suggested when we started it, but I’d double check with your pediatrician.

        1. Yes, but not sure if it was time or if it was his vitamins that helped him improve?

  2. Do you know of a dairy free alternative? My son is allergic to dairy but has a speech delay (he’s 2). Thanks.

    1. I don’t. I didn’t realize there was dairy in the vitamins. Sorry!

  3. Hi
Can I give this to my two year old son? Is it safe? Or should I consult paediatric before giving?

    1. I would consult a pediatric doctor before giving anything to your kids 🙂

  4. Hi Becky! Thanks a lot for sharing your article. I bought these vitamins for my 3 year old son. He also has speech or language delay. I hope this will work for him. I will give you an update after a month when i see results. I wish this will also help other parents who also going through struggles with their child’s delay. I just want to ask if was it only for the first month that you give 1 oz or did you reduce the dosage after a month? Thank you and best regards…

    1. I would check with your pediatrician. We started at a reduced dosage, but check with your dr. to see what you should do for your son. 🙂

  5. Hi Becky!
Did you notice your kids getting hyper after taking? I was reading through comments on the product on Amazon and a few had mentioned. I have a pretty active 3 year old with speech delay. Hopefully going to try this asap.
    Thanks!

    1. Not at all, but it is just a vitamin, so I can’t really see that happening?

  6. hi becky did it take your sons sensory issues away for good what type of sensory did he have thankyou

    1. He has trouble with touch & motion. It is much better, but he still struggles with those things a bit.

  7. Hi becky my son is three and has severe speech delay 🙁 the last little line in the cap is not one oz two tablespoons is and that’s more then the little line one tablespoon is up to the little line so did you do 1 oz or just up to the little line thankyou so much

    1. I did one oz b/c that’s what our doctor told us, but you might want to check with yours.

  8. Did he begin to talk straight away did he start with words ? Why did the doc think it would help
    Thankyou

  9. could your son say words before using this product did he take anything else or just this
    thankyou

  10. How much should I give a 21month old? And should it be given once or twice a day? An ounce seems like way too much!

    1. Yea an ounce is like 30ml. We can only give it if our doctor allows us to do so. Unfortunately my doctor doesnt even know this vitamins exist and she will say negative things without even reading the labels on it. So no help from there. Not sure 🤔 but may be pharmacists can suggest a safe amount? I will start with 10ml for my 18 month old.

  11. Hi Becky, i am out in Kenya. My daughter turns 7 tomorrow and she does not have speech at all. i am glad i came across this information and i am going to try out my level best to get the balanced essentials liquid for her. Do you have any more information that you think maybe helpful? She suffers from GDD.

  12. My daughter is 4years old. She has a rare disease. She said a few words before and a little after she had a Stem Cell Transplant in 2014. Do you think this can help her?

    1. I don’t know, honestly. I would be nervous but check with your doctor. It is just a really great multivitamin. He also told us that Animal Parade chewables (on Amazon) is a good one.

  13. Our 2 and a half year old is in speech therapy and sensory seeking, just ordered these and can’t wait to see how my son reacts to them. He currently takes Nordic naturals children’s DHA, omega 3. Do yo give your children’s both? Or does the above one you use cover all their needs.
    Thanks!
