I will admit that I am not much of a salad girl… until you put a caesar salad in front of me, that is!   This is how I would make a typical caesar salad for our family – it is so easy and quick, so a perfect go-to meal or side dish!

This salad is my favorite. Here is how to make it:

INGREDIENTS:

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Newman’s Own dressing
  • Olive Oil
  • fresh crushed garlic
  • salt to taste
  • fresh-ground black pepper
  • lemon or lime juice, fresh squeezed
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • freshly prepared croutons (or store bought)How to make it:
  • Wash the lettuce.   I like to rip it up after it is washed and dry, to make it easier to eat.
  • Lay it on your plate and grate parmesan cheese overtop.
  • Make your own croutons by deep frying chunks of bread (specialty smaller loaf bread works better than sandwich bread – I then put a little of the fresh crushed garlic on the bread, while it is still hot out of the oil).
  • Pour Newmans Own dressing on top.
  • Add a little fresh lemon (optional) and salt or pepper (to taste)Enjoy!

Newman’s Own products are great tasting with the finest ingredients while promoting charity and doing good. In 1982, Paul Newman started a tiny boutique operation – parchment labels on wine bottles filled with Paul’s own homemade salad dressing. Paul gave these to his neighbors as holidays gifts and from there it continued to grow. Over the course of 30 years, Newman’s Own has given away over $400 million to thousands of charities.

I love that Newman’s Own is a brand that represents ‘giving’ to others.   We support them buy buying their products.  Honestly, we buy their products anyway.  Here are our favorites:   Creamy Caesar – we used this one on the salad above.

We love the Balsamic vinaigrette, too.  A close up of a bottle of Newmann\'s Own Balsamic Vinaigrette on a grocery store shelf. We use the vinaigrette on our tomatoes.  I’ll just set them in their for about 5 minutes before we eat them and they are SO good!

Our other favorite (other than Ranch for dipping veggies) is Olive Oil and Vinegar, because we use this one for everything!  Salads, marinating chicken, etc…  Its our “go to” dressing.
