Great guest post today by Rebecca at Tales of Beauty for Ashes.

The baby bonked his head on the ground and is crying, the dog is eating the toddler’s lunch and the toddler herself is running around naked yelling that she has “to poopy“.   (see how Becky potty trains in 3 days)

We have all had those moments.

Maybe yours didn’t look exactly like that, but you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Those days that make you frazzled, overwhelmed and completely out of control.

As a mama of two under two, I have come up with a few tips and tricks that keep my sanity…at least until my husband can get home!

1. Don’t hesitate to take a break. If your kids are youngsters like mine are, you can put them in their room with some favorite activities (mine love looking at books), and take a breather.

Don’t feel guilty, you NEED this break. If your kids are older, the same concept works, but it will be you who gets put in your room. Close the door and take a time out.

2. Figure out a schedule that works for you – If your kids nap in the morning, that is probably not the best time to do errands. If your kids are on their best behavior in the morning, that is a great time for errands and anything that may test their patience.

When figuring out your schedule, make sure you put in those things that are essential for your day. For me, that means I need to have some time to myself with my Bible.

3. Take care of your body – You need sleep just as much as they do. Maybe more so, if you are nursing or pregnant. You taking care of your body will ensure that your kids get the best you. It’s just like what they tell you when going over the emergency rules on the airplane, put that mask on yourself first. You need to do that in your mommyhood as well.
