A few years ago, my mom told me that you will always know the perfect gift to get someone if you just listen.   When they are shopping, do they point out something that they like? When you are talking, do they mention anything that they wish they had?

If you know that they love a certain book, flower, style, etc… you can really dig in and find the perfect gift.   It’s all about finding what inspires them and running with that idea. Today, I am working with our sponsor, Personalization Mall, to share my favorite gift ideas.  I hope that they inspire you to find the perfect gifts for the special people on your list.

Personalized Gift Ideas

My favorite gifts are the ones that have a personal touch.   Instead of giving those gifts that say “World’s Best Grandparent” or “Number One Teacher” you can go a step further, with the right planning. 🙂   Plus, a personalized gift is unique and memorable… and as special as the person receiving the gift.

1. Santa’s List Personalized Barnwood Frame Wall Art

I love decorating our house for Christmas, and our kids love it even more!  They have been asking if we can decorate since November 1st. This Nice List is adorable and personal!  Not only is it a great gift for someone, but it’s perfect for your own house, too.

I ordered two of these Lists from Personalization Mall.   One for our house & one for my parents.  Once I ordered it and personalized it (the personalizing is free), it shipped very quickly to our house.  They actually have a 1-2 day turnaround time.
Here is a close-up of the one in our house…

The only difference between mine & the one that I ordered for my mom and dad is that the list at my parent’s house includes the names of all of their grandchildren, while the one at our house only has the names of our children.

2. Family Personalized Christmas Wood Centerpiece Box

This farmhouse-style centerpiece is adorable.   It has a watercolor design, so I think it would match anyone’s holiday decor.   It can be used for anything from holding your favorite holiday accents to storage.

Personally, I am going to use it to hold the Christmas cards that we get. The kids love to go through the cards often, so this gives them easy access to the cards & keeps them organized at the same time.   Plus, the box is really sturdy & well-built, like everything I’ve ordered on Personalization Mall, so I know it will hold up to our family’s use.  🙂

3. Our Little Snowflakes Personalized LED Red Glass Ornament

Every year, our family buys my parents an ornament that will remind them of the past year.   This year I ordered this red-painted glass ornament.  It is adorable and since I ordered it from  Personalization Mall, I know that the design is one-of-a-kind (they have their own designers).   It is laser engraved and personalized with up to 10 names. It shows a glowing light from the inside that turns on by twisting the top grey ornament holder.

4. DIY Wooden Birthday Calendar

Several years ago, I made my mom this wooden birthday calendar for Christmas.  It is versatile, too, so you could change it for each grandparent (maternal or paternal side of the family!) You can change it with the years, adding new births or spouses along the way!

5. A Jar of your favorite homemade Cookie Mix

I had to share this idea because my husband’s aunt used to make dozens of cookies for us when we lived in Pennsylvania.   Every year, we knew that we would be leaving her house with a gift that took her hours upon hours to make. She made a variety of cookies and gave them as gifts each year.

I loved that idea and always wanted to do the same. Whether you make one type of many, it still makes a great gift. This homemade jar of Chocolate Peppermint Cookie Mix with a little note or card is the perfect way to show someone that you care.
