Fun Cheesy Snack Bar Ideas for the Lunch Box
This post is sponsored by Borden® Cheese
When I was young and in school, my mom would send a napkin every day in my lunchbox that had a little note on it. I looked forward to it and it was my way to know that she was thinking of me even when I wasn’t home. When our kids started school, I did the same thing. Now that some of our kids are getting older, I try to find other creative ways to let them know that I am thinking about them when they open up their lunchbox. I also need to make sure that I am sending them foods that are nutrient-rich, like Borden® Cheese Snack Bars, so they will be energized and ready for a full day of school.
I know heading back to school is always an exciting, yet hectic, time of year for families. With packed schedules, busy moms and dads are always searching for easy ways to fuel their families with the nutrients they need to make it through the day. I try to find things like Borden® Cheese Snack Bars that are easy, delicious and healthy additions to their lunchbox. I also love knowing that Borden® Cheese works with more than 8,000 family-owned dairy farms across the United States; for my family, that makes a difference.
You probably know from other recipes that I’ve made that I like to use Borden® Cheese. The Borden® Cheese Snack Bars combine convenience and nutrition and are a wholesome snack that everyone can feel good about. I know that while Borden® Cheese Snack Bars are the perfect anytime snack, they are especially great for lunchtime and after-school snacking in our family. I want to know that our kids are getting the nutrients that they need, like 5g of protein, but that it is providing the flavor that our kids like with so many flavors including Mild Cheddar, Colby Jack, Pepper Jack, and Gouda.
Today I wanted to share some ways that I use Borden® Cheese Snack Bars to make fun little creative shapes for our kids’ lunches.
I spend one minute getting it ready in the morning and the kids come home smiling about whatever it is that we made that day. Our son told me that he can’t wait to see what goes into his lunchbox tomorrow! 🙂
Here are some fun cheese snack bar ideas for the lunch box
- Cell Phone.
This little cell phone was our daughter’s favorite!
She even wants me to make her this little phone when she gets home from school as her after-school snack. Of course, she makes a quick call before opening it up for her snack.
- Baseball
During baseball season, our son loves when we surprise him with a baseball bat and baseballs.
3. Snowman
This one is so cute! My husband made this for our kids and they all came home talking about it.
4. Broom
This is perfect for fall or for Halloween. It’s so simple to make and it’s adorable.
5. Football
When our son has a game, we like to send him a little football (this is almost every Friday for a while!)
6. Flower
This Flower is so simple to make with a little knife and our daughter just LOVED it!
7. Letters
When your child is learning a new letter, sight word or spelling word… this is the perfect way to reinforce what they are learning. A simple reminder like seeing the word or letter when they aren’t expecting it is a great way to help them to learn it.
8. A motivational note.
Do you remember when I said that I love to send a napkin with a note, but I’ve gotten more creative? This is one simple way that you can send a note. 🙂
9. I love you.
No explanation needed. ♥
10. Snack anytime!
The best part… if your kids help you to make the snacks, they will help you eat it (and watch out because they will gobble up the ‘leftovers’.).
Sometimes I will make a few right before they come home from school, so they can have a nutritious and filling after-school snack.
Or… we will just grab one right out of the bag, because as much fun as I have making these ‘reminders’ for our kids (that literally take about 30 seconds each), I also love to just grab one and go! Borden® Cheese Snack Bars are sold in packs of ten individually-wrapped bars, which makes them perfect for tossing into a lunchbox, backpack or my purse for on-the-go snacking. With 5 g of protein and 80 calories or less per bar, they make the perfect snack!
