It is so important for my kids to see my husband and I TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES! The way that I eat, work out, etc… all impacts my children. Plus, working out raises endorphins and that makes you feel better, happier, more joy-filled!
I want to teach them the skills to have a healthy, long life! I do not want to teach them to “diet”… I want to teach them to make healthy choices that will help them live a healthy life every day.

Let me tell you my goals & why I want to do this:
1- I used to work out heavily – I blame it on lack of time now, but I really just don’t do much more than about 20 min. at night, if that. (ps- here are 7 exercises to do while you are sitting at work)
2- I used to eat only healthy foods (confession time: since having our four kids, I have been able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want and still lose weight. Lucky me, I know, but I did this for 8 years! I am finally at the point where I am not pregnant or breastfeeding, so I am starting to gain a few pounds. Only about 5 lbs. so far, but when you are 4’11, five pounds shows on you pretty quickly and it will quickly turn into ten pounds if I don’t start watching!)
3- I want to be able to run far again! haha. I used to run several miles a day & now I am winded after half a mile!
4- I just want to be healthy, overall, and this is a good way to do it.
5- Teaching my children that every choice that you make can be one to better yourself and keep you as healthy as God wants you to be – to live a long, happy, healthy life.
Here is a recent picture of my husband and I (so you can see where I am beginning) – out to eat at our favorite restaurant, The BrickHouse (without kids!) when my in-laws were visiting.

Like I said, I do the point system because I belong to emeals already , so here is a tiny bit of what I get daily:
And then I refer to the chart that they provide to tell me what I can eat for each point. (so a whole wheat bagel is one point. Sorry that you can’t see the whole thing- it was too big, so I just took a screenshot of part of it).

My spouse and i felt now happy when Emmanuel managed to deal with his homework from your ideas he gained out of the weblog. It’s not at all simplistic just to continually be offering instructions which often some people might have been selling. And now we grasp we’ve got the blog owner to give thanks to for this.
