Every year, we give our kids something that we know they will love and cherish. Today I want to share it with you. This gift is special, because it involves reading. For this reason, I am excited to partner with Hallmark, as part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network.
”Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.” ~Emilie Buchwald
When I was younger, my parents gave me a personalized book about myself, my brother and our dog. I can still remember it (because I still have it -haha!)
“Timmy and Becky went on a walk with their dog, Hooka. They went to see Mrs. Hubbard to get a bone for Hooka, but when they arrived, the bones were gone!”
The book was adorable and I loved it so much. Now that I am a mom, I read it to my kids and they love it, too. I guess there is something about seeing your name in a book that makes it feel so much more special than a ‘regular’ book.
Our kids are no different! First of all, they love to read and they love it even more if I read to them (each one from our 4 year old to our 9 year old).
This year, for Christmas I ordered a book from Hallmark, because Allie (our 3 year old) thinks that Ariel is the best thing since Ice Cream! (I know that it should be “since sliced bread”… but let me be honest in saying that I would pick ice cream over bread any day!). So, when I was looking around on Hallmark’s website for grandparent gifts, I saw the books and then this one caught my eye, so I personalized it:
It is so adorable. Here are a few more sneak peeks:
After an adorable intro page, Allie spots Ariel (on page 2). I customized Allies look! I gave her curly hair, brown eyes and brown hair.
Allie and Ariel have a fun adventure:
Arielle even gives Allie a seashell necklace…
And then it ends with Allie in bed… having sweet dreams!
Allie will be getting it on Christmas morning. I had to share it with you now, so you could do the same. I really cannot wait to see her excitement! I plan on getting our three boys their own books, too. It is on my to-do list for this week!
There are so many to choose from: Frozen, Super Why and so many more! You can look at them here. Oh! I almost forgot to tell you that it was $5 off because I purchased before 12/13. (You can take $5 off of itty bittys, too – that sale lasts until Dec. 20th). This offer excludes Hallmark Keepsakes product. There are a lot of new characters, like Star Wars, Barbie, Inside Out, Rainbow Brite, DC Comics and many more. The itty bittys nativity set includes an angel, Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and a stable.
If you are going to buy your kids a gift this year, buy them a book. In my opinion, the best gifts are those that teach our child: through books, experiences or other ways. I love to give these as birthday gifts, too!
Do you want to WIN a book, too? Leave a comment and let me know which book you would order.
In the meantime, follow Hallmark on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to find the great deals:

What a great tradition! I remember having one or two of those personalized books as a child and I loved them. Reading the opening page of the book you purchased for your daughter reminded me of my best friend’s daughter who loves the ocean just like her mother. I would love to win a copy to share with her.
Thanks!
I would LOVE the tea party book for my daughter!
Oh a tea party book sounds like so much fun!
My daughter absolutely loves Ariel and always pretends to be a mermaid in the bath tub. She would love this book and especially if it had her name in it. She has the ariel mermaid barbie dolls and the mermaid dolls in the bathtub with her all the time and she is always watching the videos on my Ipad. She is 4 years old.
Oh my goodness- mine too!!!
