I’m working with Dannon to share some great tips for you!  We love Activia, so I am excited to share with you today (& offer an awesome giveaway!)

I feel just awful when someone in my family isn’t feeling well.   (Let it be known, that my husband acts like one of the kids when he isn’t feeling well… walking around with the blanket on his shoulders, sad look on his face… yep, the whole nine yards.  I can remember my brother acting the same way when we were growing up!)

Today I wanted to share 5 tips to help when you (or someone in your family) has an upset stomach.
5 tips to help with an upset stomach

1- Are you eating enough Fruits & Veggies?   Try adding some to your meals (health starts with the right foods).  Add some fruits to some Activia yogurt in the mornings and start you day out right!

2- Drink water- Cut back on coffee and wine.   Yes, I know that most of you love coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night, but it can irritate the lining of your stomach, causing more issues.  Try drinking water for a few days.

3- Take a walk.   Ok, this one isn’t a food, but it certainly helps you to feel better!
Walking or exercising is great for digestion.   It can make you feel better (even when you feel like you are too full to walk!)  I can actually remember one time when my husband and I ate at a restaurant in Savannah, Georgia.  We were both so full leaving there that we didn’t think we could walk to the car.   I actually told him that he could probably just ‘roll me out to the car’. haha!   Do you know what made us feel better?  Walking!  (And never eating that much again!)

4- Try drinking Cinnamon Tea.   I know that it seems weird, but a friend gave me this suggestion and it works.  Just add 1/2 of a teaspoon of cinnamon (the powder) into 1 cup hot water.  Let it sit for a few minutes (around five).  Stir & enjoy.

5- Take action BEFORE you get sick!   How many of you take care of yourself to prevent stomach aches?   Try taking the Activia Challenge.   It is easy & it works.   Just eat (its good, so you will love that part) Activia twice a day for four weeks and watch how Activia may help to reduce the frequency of minor digestive issues* such as bloating, gas, rumbling, and discomfort.  It works or it’s free!

I eat Activia every day for breakfast (they are quick to grab!) and again for a snack in between lunch & dinner (I need a little treat to hold me over until dinner).  I love it, but the added health benefits are great!

I love that it has probiotics in it (this is why I give it to our kids).  I love that it tastes great (this is why they ask for it).

  1. From what I’ve been reading, most Americans need Activia and related probiotic foods pretty desperately!!! 🙂 (So many things from refrigerators–because we no longer have to ferment vegetables to preserve them, to herbicides which kill off the good bacteria in our guts, have made us as a nation very low on these probiotics.) The other ideas are great, too; thanks!!! 🙂
