“Mom? When I’m grown up, I’m going to put all of my cards out like you do.” My son told me. I didn’t used to do this, to be honest.  I used to put them in a basket and that was that. Today, I am sharing a new idea as part of a partnership with Walmart.

Then one year my cousin sent me a picture of her son and I knew that he didn’t belong in that basket.  It was a beautiful photo card.  So, I started putting photo cards in frames.

I went to Walmart.com and bought a bunch of those inexpensive black picture frames (you know – the ones that only cost about $1 a frame).  I bought about 15 of them and saved them.

When cards came in, they went into the frames and went around the house. The kids’ friend’s pictures usually went into the kids’ rooms. Family friend’s pictures went in our living room or dining room. Cousins, nieces & nephews were displayed on our wall and on our entry room table.

That was when it hit me… I will start giving out OUR Christmas cards the same way.  So, the following year, I bought ten more frames and ordered our cards.

I order our cards from Walmart.com, but they have 3500 locations nationwide where you can transfer images from your mobile device in-store using the Fujifilm Kiosk Photo Transfer App or connecting with a cable at the kiosk. It’s quick and easy!  This year I ordered the Golden Christmas Greeting Card.  It is a 5X7 and fits our picture.  It was 48 cents, so you know it was perfect for me!

Plus, the back has room for me to write a little note (I usually put the year & a small note, in case they replace it the following year)

I ordered a lot of cards, because I sent my far-away friends a card in the envelopes that they provided, but for family that I see often (or that I will see by the holidays), I framed them:

Of course, I save one to keep at our house to display through the season, as well:

  2. #sweepstakrs I love the Walmart photo! I have used them for invitations, baby announcements (I have 5 kids), Christmas cards and regular prints. We are taking photos today for our Christmas card 😊 and I am planning to use Walmart photo for a mouse pad gift to my mother in law this year!

  3. We’ve done something similar. Family photos (typically taken by a close friend or my niece), then we go through and pick our favorites. We frame favorites for grandparents and siblings. It’s always a hit (and something I would love as well :)).
