Make a racetrack out of a shower curtain:
This is so simple and the kids can help you make it and it will keep them entertained for hours on end! (I even had this set up as a “Station” on our son’s birthday party.
Just buy a vinyl shower curtain – a cheap one will work fine. (check the Dollar Store or Wal-mart) A sturdier one will last longer.
Take two sharpies and tape them to a cup (if you want a wider road, use a wider cup)
Decide on a plan: what do you want to add?
A Farm & Zoo?
A few of your favorite places? 
Have fun! Let your kids help you color – I let mine use crayons. They also helped me to decide what we needed to add (fish at the lake, a swingset at the play ground).
It is fun & you can add so many things to it!! We currently have it set up next to a log cabin built out of lincoln logs and a farm by Fisher Price. They “drive” to these places & play there!
Brilliant idea!!! We might try a track/town on an old sheet. LOVE making the equally spaced roads by taping writing instruments on a cup. So smart! Thank you!!

A cool idea! My son would love getting to “design” his own town! I have used painters tape on the floor to make tracks and he thinks that is fun!
Our older boys have made their own & love it! Good idea on the painters tape- I’ll have to try that!
The kids loved the idea as soon as I showed them your pictures, and I think they made it the very next day!! 🙂 We did end up using use an old sheet. It doesn’t stay flat very well on its own, but they taped the corners to the floor & that works pretty well. 🙂 What fun; thanks again!

Whoa! What a great idea. I wish I would have known this when my girls were little. They LOVED cars and this would have been so fun. Love the glass idea, too!
