A large rectangular frame with four photos of children in each square.I love my kids.  I love their smiles.  I love their frowns.  I even love how our 5 year old has a little ‘growl’ when he gets mad.

I love that our baby girl has started giving real kisses!

I love that our 3 year old asks me to “shweep with me” when he wants me to lay with him.

I love it when our 7 year old wants to be carried up the stairs because he wants me to hug him longer before bed
(NOTE: I am 4’11 and he is over 4 feet, so you can imagine that this is truly a labor of love!)

I love how our 5 year old comes into our bed at 7:20 to lay with me because he is cold and I warm him up. (My husband says that ever since having babies, my body is like a furnace when I sleep.)

This gift that I am sharing today is the perfect way to ‘spell-it-out’ for anyone. I wanted to share this creative and inexpensive gift for Grandparents, your spouse or anyone that loves your kids like you do (great for any holiday).  I gave this to my parents and to my husband’s parents a few months ago, and they love it as much as I do.

I just bought four black letters at Michaels (Looking back, I wish that I would have bought white letters, because they would stand out more.)  I also bought a picture frame at Wal-mart.   (if you do not have four kids, I would just take a picture of one or two of the kids twice, holding another letter in a different pose… or take one of all of the kids holding one letter together.)

I had them all sit beside each other and I just snapped away… (doing what I could to get them to smile… making silly faces, putting flowers on my head and pretending to “sneeze” so hard that they fell off, singing silly songs, quacking like a duck, saying silly words that would make them laugh, like “Chicken Pot Pie” – Yes, this makes them laugh so hard and I don’t know why!)

Here are a few pictures that made this project love-able.

A little boy that is sitting in the grass holding a wooden letter \"L\".

A little boy sitting in the grass holding a wooden letter \"O\".

A little boy that is kneeling in the grass holding a wooden letter \"V\".
(yes- he is sitting on a basketball- we choose our battles, as mothers.)

A small girl that is sitting in the grass with a wooden letter \"E\" resting on her legs.Four children sitting in the grass holding wooden letters on their laps that spell out the word LOVE.

PS- And  just for a little reality check…  here is what happened when our daughter realized that this grass did NOT feel so good on those sweet little {chubby} legs…
(but isn’t that just the cutest cry face ever?  I just had to include this picture-  She looks SO much like her older brothers sometimes – I can remember their crying baby faces at this same age.   (PS- she was a happy baby as soon as I scooped her up into my arms!)

  1. Awww! What an ADORABLE idea! Love this! I only have two kids (how convenient you have one for each letter! lol) but I bet we could pull this off with both of us plus the kiddos. Woot – Christmas gift idea! Thanks!

  2. Your kids get cuter and cuter every day Becky! I really like photo gifts. I feel they are the one gift that I can give that no one else can give. I do love the natural poses. My sons were picking at each other at a family photo shoot. The photographer says, “Oh you won’t want that one”. Wrong! That’s one of the ones I bought because it really captured who they were. Now, I just need to get them all together to get this done.

    1. 🙂 Thanks, Christina!! You are so sweet.
I agree- I love when a pic shows their personality. 🙂
