Many of you know that I am a Mom of four little ones and a play therapist.  I am always looking for ways to educate our kids and my clients, as well as getting them involved.  Singing is fantastic therapy for children!  They actually have music therapist that spend the entire therapy session singing with their clients.  When I found this site that I am going to share with you (SumahoMAMA), the first thing that came to my mind was “Oh- the boys will love this!”  The second thing is “Wow- this is perfect for play therapy!”   I was a teacher, as well, so I would have had this in my classroom if I were still teaching, too.

I often (at least twice a day) get onto youtube and search things like “Itsy Bitsy Spider”.   The only problem is that all too often, an inappropriate pop-up or video will be on the sidebar.   This is not what I want when I am sharing these videos with our four young children.

I was excited to finally find a website that has appropriate songs, fingerplays & videos on a kid website!  It is just like a Music Amusement Park!

It is called SumahoMAMA music amusement park!  It is a ‘magical toy chest’ that is full of the most popular kids songs, put together and designed and crafted by MOMS who know best what real kids love.  I love that!  Who knows a child better than their own mother?  I trust a site that is made for their children.

This was created in Japan and has already had over 1.2 million downloads in Japan.    Here are a few examples of some of the free songs: “The Hokey Pokey” and “Alphabet Songs”   (ps- our kids LOVE the hokey pokey.  I forgot to play that one with them until I saw this.  I used to sing this song in elementary school, too!)
