When Mickey and I decided that we were going to work from home, we had a lot of research to do. The one that was the hardest for us was choosing our health care. We had both become so used to just ‘getting what you get’ in our jobs, so having the ability to pick our own was new to us. That’s the day that I learned that I was not a health plan pro and I had a lot of learning to do.
Today, to make health care a little more fun, I am partnering with UnitedHealthcare to share a sponsored post and sweepstakes. To have a chance to win, you will complete 4 stages of “are you a health plan pro?”. Once all of the stages are complete, you will be given the option to submit your information for a chance to win. You can win $100 weekly or even $500 monthly.
To find more, I took the quiz over at their website to see how much I knew. I did Ok, but I did miss a few things (Mickey got everything right… but he worked at a finance/insurance company, so he has a leg up, right?) 😉 Next, I played a matching game surrounding the three different types of health care accounts: FSA, HSA and HRA.
I used the slide configurator to learn more about premiums versus out-of-pocket ratios. (For every size family). You must use the sliders to figure out the correlation between the premium and out-of- pocket costs for that specific scenario.
Last, in stage four, you use the ranker to organize a handful of health care situations from least expensive to most expensive (examples are having a baby, going to urgent care, having a surgery). This one is important to know.
We were shocked when we switched to our own insurance and Allie fell and split her forehead open. We took her to the ER for stitches and walked out with 3 stitches and we walked out with $500 less in our account. Oh boy… Good thing we know about the other options for future ‘boo-boo’s, which happen a lot in a family of six. It’s a good thing that with UnitedHealthCare, you can choose from a variety of supplemental plans that help with health care services not included in your family health insurance.
Here is a walk-through of the website:
Once you submit your info, you are entered into the sweepstakes.
You will be able to complete the engagement once a day every day to enter into the sweepstakes. There will be a few weekly winners of $100 and a monthly winner of $500.
Ps- There is also a crossword puzzle all about health care terminology that has a sweepstakes attached to it, as well, where you can win $100 weekly and $500 monthly.
