I am sharing one of my favorite chili recipes with you today! We love it so much!
1 lb. Turkey Ground Meat
1 medium red onion
1 jar of Green Mountain Gringo – this is a Tastefully Crafted salsa made close to our house and I love it! It is an all-natural, craft salsa made in Winston-Salem, NC. It is a delicious, gluten-free salsa made of only all natural ingredients, meaning no additives or non-natural preservatives. The Green Mountain Gringo approach is, “Just what it needs and nothing it doesn’t,” and you can taste what they mean in the wholesome flavors. Between the hand-picked vegetables and perfect blend of essential herbs and spices, this salsa goes great as a snack (we eat it with Green Mountain Gringo’s all-natural non-GMO tortilla strips)
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 can (15 to 16 oz) pinto beans, drained, rinsed
1 can black beans
Pick your own toppings (cheese, green onions…)
Cook the ground turkey. Set aside. Cook the onion for about 10 minutes (medium heat).
In a crock pot, add the turkey, onion and everything else (save the beans until you are ready to serve it. Just throw those in at the last minute, after you have drained & rinsed them. Heat them up for about 5 minutes).
Cook on low for 8 hours.
Add beans. Cook about 5 min. more.
Ps- If you were wondering what was in the Green Mountain Gringo Salsa, here you go: |Ripe Tomatoes, Fresh Onions, Fresh Tomatillos, Fresh Pasilla Peppers, Fresh Jalapeno Peppers, Fresh Cilantro, Apple Cider Vinegar, Fresh Parsley, Fresh Garlic, Sea Salt, Spices. (That pretty much sums up why we keep it in our house & snack on it all day! I will happily let the kids enjoy it, too, because it is natural.)
