What to do:
Have the child’s grandparents pull up things from their past.
Some great ones are:
Old telephones
Old pictures
Negatives from the pictures
Tape Players
Tapes
Records & record players

Next, let the child guess what it was used for.   Our own kids were shocked when we were watching a black & white movie yesterday and they saw the old “television set” that came in the box.   They couldn’t believe that  a “TV” looked that way!

How many old items do you have in your house that you could pull out and let your children guess what it is and how they were used!  Let the kids experiment with them and explain how much things have changed and what now replaces it.  Ask them to think ahead to what will one day replace this item, too.
