I read a quote last week by R. Benchley that said “Every boy should have two things; a dog, and a mother willing to let him have one.”

I loved that.  I know that having a dog can be hard, because they can be more work than the kids sometimes, but the bond that they have is one of my favorite things.   I love watching him run to my kids side if he hears them cry.  I love that he barks if someone has come to the door and he doesn’t recognize them.   I love that he just wants to sit beside you to show his loyalty.

Our favorite thing to do for our dog is to take him to the Dog Park.   He LOVES it.    He could play there for hours (and he comes home worn out!)   I love that Beneful has just launched its 2016  Beneful Dream Dog Park Project, which is an annual effort to help improve and build dog parks across the country. The goal is to provide financial and hands on support to at least 12 dog parks in the U.S., and this year, with GoFundMe is helping to reach that goal.  (Beneful has been helping build and upgrade dog parks since 2010)

Dog parks aren’t just for dogs, but also for the owners.  I met one of my closest friends at a dog park and now we meet there so our dogs and kids can play!    We plan weekly play-dates at the dog park now for the kids AND the dogs (the one that we go to has a kid park right next to the dog park, just separated by a small gate). 🙂

Do you want to win a GIVEAWAY:  a Beneful Dream Dog Park ‘dog park pack’ to one reader (that’s what I’m using in the picture!)  It has a bag, leash, Frisbee and tennis ball (maybe even a few Beneful coupons!)    Just leave a comment below letting me know you’re favorite thing to do with your dog. 🙂

We have 3 shih-tzu’s and one is the mom to one, and to see them all play together is like watching your children! They all growl and bark, but are right there next to each other when one gets in trouble or when they are sleeping.
