I love decorating, so today Family Dollar challenged me to decorate in a few creative ways for fall, so for today’s sponsored post, I’m doing just that. 🙂  Using the new digital coupon clipping program, Smart Coupons, I was able to save on some really great items (like always). 5 Last-Minute Decor Ideas to Get Ready for Halloween

1- OWLS!
I love Owls for Halloween because they aren’t scary, but they do remind you of October & Halloween.  I picked this up at Family Dollar and it was so cute, that I bought two.  I try not to do anything scary in our house (we have four kids and our younger ones, Ethan & Allie, are easily spooked!).

This little owl is so cute.  It is a shelf-sitter, but I used it on the fireplace mantel.  I have the other one on our entry-table (although right now he is in Allie’s purse and has become her “new pet Owlie”).

2- CANDY!
You can’t go wrong adding Halloween candy to a dish for all to enjoy.  By “all”, I really mean “ALL!” This is what it looks like…

1- Eying up the candy.

2- Hand going in for the candy.

3- “No.  I don’t have anything in my mouth.”

3. PUMPKINS
I love pumpkins for Halloween – they can be Jack-O-Lanterns or they can just be used as-is. 🙂
Either way, these little pumpkin salt & pepper shakers were perfect for our dining room tablescape that I shared last week.

4.  NOT-SO-SPOOKY WINDOWS
We have a door where our kids’ friends come when they want to play. They come over, knock & we all know that they are ready to play. So, to make it fun for our kids & our neighbors, we decorated that door with these cute window clings. They were really cheap, so I won’t mind throwing them out at the end of the season (but I did save the wrapper in case I want to use them again). 🙂

5. A REMINDER
I found this adorable ‘BLESSINGS’ magnet for $1 and picked it up (not surprised with their Everyday Low Prices).  I keep the kid’s homework on the refrigerator, so it was a no-brainer that this would go there, too. It serves as a reminder and the kids will see it every day when they look at their homework.
A reminder to be thankful for our many blessings…
