We need your help… to change the world {literally}

I am privileged and excited to bring you the latest project here at Your Modern Family. Let me start by saying that I KNOW that we are blessed, lucky, privileged… and every other word that means those things.

We have fresh water, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads. We have people that can help us if we need help, family that would be able to support us if we need support. Many people don’t. Many people can’t count on other people or their own family to support them, and many people can’t even support themselves.

I have teamed up with these amazing, heart-strong women: Paula Rollo from Beauty Through Imperfection, Jodi Durr from Meaningful Mama and Kristen Welch of We are THAT Family.
The four of us are going to embark on an incredible journey and we need your help.

You see, Kristen is the mastermind behind Mercy House. Mercy House exists to empower and advocate for pregnant teens, single mothers and women in poverty all over the world. We are working to help them through our love and faith, helping them to become aware and helping them to gain employment.

Currently, they are driving long distances to bring in clean drinking water to Mercy House. This is a major expense and one that we would like to help eliminate! Since they are on top of a mountain this is no cheap task, but they have an ideal spot for digging a well with great water underneath. Our aim is to raise at least $40,000 for Mercy House to fun the digging of the well. This well will also provide a source of income for them, as they will be able to provide water to the rest of the village at much cheaper rates than the village gets from driving long distances to get water the same way that Mercy House does.

SO how can you help?
We are making our own book! Think of a book like Chicken Soup for the ___ Soul… well, we want to make a book called The Mom Quilt. We are going to ‘sew’ together all of our stories of encouragement for other mothers. We would love to hear what you have to say.

You do not have to be a blogger. You do not have to be a writer. You simply have to have a heart that thrives to help others.

We will take 100% of the proceeds and donate them to Mercy House, in hopes of giving them a well.
