My grandma lived at the beach. She spent her days in the sun… hours and hours a day in the sun. She never feared it, yet she never looked like she lived in the sun. She would joke that her skin was leather from all of the sun, but it just never looked that way.

In college, my roomate, Julia, and I went to visit her on Hilton Head Island during our spring break. We weren’t much for finding parties or going out… I guess that’s why we clicked and are still friends today. We both liked to just relax, talk and hang out.

That week, we spent a lot of time on the beach, reading books for hours. However, while we were there, I remember learning two things from my grandma:

1- Spending time with family and friends is more important than almost anything else. After dinner, she would tell us to “leave it” and by that, she meant leave the dishes for later. We would walk down to the beach and talk for hours. When we came home, the dishes were waiting for us. We would all clean up together (she wasn’t one for cleaning up our messes, but she did let us know that spending time together came first.)

2- The second thing that I learned that week was how she took care of her skin. I remember it so clearly, as she took Julia and I into the hall near the bathroom. There, she had a little closet filled with lotions, sunscreen, bug spray, shampoos and more. Inside that closet, she had a tote that was literally filled with Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream.

She told us that it was the key to her skin staying so young-looking, because it was always hydrated. Hydration is the key to healthy skin and to taking preventative anti-aging measures. She even used the lotion on her lips! She told me that she used it every single day and had for many years.

So… I started using it, too.
Here is a before picture from a week ago.

I’ve used it for over 15 years now and will continue to use their products. Over the years, their products have maintained their worth, as Olay is the worldwide leader in skin care and has been trusted by women, like my grandma and myself, for over 60 years. They hold true to the philosophy that you don’t have to pay premium prices for skin care to work. Over 80 million women trust Olay with their skin for a reason.

In fact, Good Housekeeping Institute showed the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream outperforms 10 top prestige creams, including one with a $440 price tag! Can you imagine? While this is not an anti-aging cream, it is a moisturizing and plumping powerhouse.

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, GHI’s engineers, scientists and other experts test these products rigorously. Then they evaluate them. This year, GHK tested the latest Micro-Sculpting Cream formula (only $26.99) and Olay rose to the top, over creams ranging in price from $26-$440. It moisturized 400% better than a cream that was 18 times the price, at the three hour mark! Plus, it lasts longer, feels lightweight and improves skin texture (I know… I use it). 🙂

Here’s an after picture (taken today)

A few more things I learned about Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream, once I started digging in:

– Visible wrinkle results at day 1
– Reduces appearance of lines, boosts hydration and brightness in 1 day.
– Skin is firmer & skin elasticity is improved in two weeks.
– By 4 weeks, it reduces the look of up to TEN YEARS of wrinkles! That’s a HUGE change.

So… here is what I do every day, thanks to the lessons from my grandma:

1. Wake up and wash my face.
2. Apply Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. I just keep it in my makeup drawer:

3. Apply sunscreen and makeup (I barely use any in the summertime- usually just lipstick and mascara)
4. Get ready for the day (dressed, bed made, etc…)
5. Drink a glass of water (my least favorite thing to do, but water is good for your skin & body)
I apply it again at bedtime.

All in all, it’s the little things like drinking water and using a lotion that keeps your skin hydrated that makes all of the difference. Take care of the skin… it’s the only skin you’ll get. 🙂

I partnered with Olay on this post but all thoughts and opinons are my own #ageless

  1. Definitely going to try it! What body lotion do you use to keep your skin hydrated?

    1. I actually switch all the time. I have Olay wipes (the disposable kind that washes your fash- like a washcloth) beside my sink, I have Mary Kay by the bathtub, I have Rodan & Fields in the shower and I have Aveeno by my husband’s sink… so wherever I happen to be when I remember to wash- that’s what I use. 😉 LOL. Sorry- probably not the answer you were looking for.
