Getting ready in the morning, with four kids getting ready at the same time (or needing me to get them ready) leaves me with little time to myself. That is why these 10 beauty hacks for the busy mom will help you (and me!) get ready quickly!

1- Start your morning off with a great anti-aging serum. I use Boots No7 every morning because I love their serum!   I use it every day.  For over 80 years, its mission is simple- to help us look & feel beautiful. Simplicity is key.

A hand holding a box of No. 7 product.

It is UK’s #1 beauty brand for a reason- they have clinical proof that their anti-wrinkle power works in just four weeks to reduce lines and wrinkles. That’s why I love it- I was able to test it and see results with the serum that makes skin look younger. I love the way that it feels, too (seriously- my husband laughs when I put it on because I use it a few times a day. I just love it.)

Its probably the combination of Matrixyl, plus the peptide that work together, but whatever it is- its great and 80% of women agree with me,  that they saw their best anti-aging results ever… according to their study! (haha!)

FUN FACT: One is sold every 10 seconds.  You can watch a video about it here.

I love their Protect & Perfect Advanced Serums (You can watch their video by clicking on that link!) For $2 off Advanced serums on USE CODE: BOOTSIBOX

If you want longer looking lashes in the middle, put a little olive oil on them. It will keep your lashes looking darker all day long. (You can use a mascara type wand for this).

If you use mascara and you get it on your upper eye lid, a little baby oil will remove it.

If you are in a rush, don’t go for dark colors (eye shadows, lipsticks) because they show flaws and errors. Go for the neutral colors and tones.

Do an Elsa Braid
when you are in a rush.

I do this all of the time. I will start a braid on the front right and end it on the bottom left- braiding around my head.
I made a tutorial to show you how I do this…

If your hair looks a little frizzy, but you don’t have time to fix it, this next trick works wonders. I just take a tiny dab of the lotion and I rub it in my hands and run it through my hair. I use it like I would use leave in conditioner- working from the ends up to the top.

Do your hair first, before you put your makeup on. That way it can ‘set’ while you are getting ready (skip to #7 for another hair idea that I do a lot).

Now you can get the curls that you want while you are driving where you need to be: Just dampen hair a bit and then put it in a sock bun and leave it there until you have to take it out. You can see a full tutorial of the sock bun here.

To tame fly aways on your hair, just grab a new toothbrush and spray it with hairspray. Brush the fly-away pieces down or to the side. It works great!

Every few weeks, I will make an egg white mask at the end of the day to refresh my face. Just
whisk a few egg whites until it is a foam. Apply to face and let it dry. When it is dry, wet it and remove it. Use Boots No7  Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced afterwards to re-moisten and work on fine lines.  My mom and I used to do this all of the time when I was younger:  (it was natural and fun!)

  1. Love these! My go-to hack is the braid or bun. I quickly dry just my roots and once the braid or bun is in I pull my hair on top just a bit to give it a more teased / finished look.

    1. 🙂 I know- I wear mine in a bun a lot, too (especially to sleep.) 🙂

    1. I seriously LOVE it. It is sooooo silky & smooth. Its my new favorite lotion!

  2. My beauty hack is to use my Covergirl LASHOUT that I’ve had for 2-3 months on my lower lashes. It doesn’t have as much color so there aren’t as many smudges under my eyes! My new one is always for my upper lashes since smudges don’t happen as much there. So, I always have two tubes, the old one, and the new one. New for top, old and dryer for bottom! Way less mess and I can do it in a hurry!

  3. My favorite beauty go to is the sock bun. I put my hair up in and by the time I get to work, I take it out, brush my fingers through it and Im ready to go. The most important beauty hack that my mom taught me was that even if I do not feel my best, either my outfit or bad hair day, she told me to always smile. When you smile, people are drawn to that and tend to not notice that you have two different pairs of shoes on when you were rushing out the door. Sadly, that has happened to me more than once. 😉
