Since Mickey and I both started working from home, we have had more time to travel & go to new places. I am often invited to different places through my blog, to speak to bloggers and teach them how to start & grow a blog, or to work with a company. The kids are off from school during the summer and during their fall & spring breaks, so we have taken full advantage of those times.
In doing so, we have found a few places that we loved, so I wanted to share them with you…
1). Hilton Head.
I know that you know how much I love it, since I write about it so often. I still wanted to throw this one in there. This is my very favorite place to visit with our family. Relaxed, slow-paced and just beautiful.
2). San Antonio.
This one was new for us. I went to speak at the Insight Blogger Retreat and had such a blast. We had such a great time seeing all of the sites. We stayed at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. Our room had a terrace overlooking the Riverwalk. We met friends in the V Bar and had breakfast in their Citrus Restaurant.
A few places to go if you are in San Antonio: Fogo de Chao Restaurant (amazing) and the NAO Gastro Bar (it is attached to the culinary school, so it was really fun to see the students putting what they learned into action)
3. Universal Studios for Harry Potter World.
While I tend to think that US is geared more for older kids, our kids all had a blast visiting Harry Potter World. We just ordered our copy of my friend’s book, the Unofficial Guide to Crafting the World of Harry Potter, and they are busy making things to take on our next visit!
4. Savannah, GA.
We took a tour & had a blast visiting Savannah & learning all about the history.
5. Lake Norman
This is where we live and I don’t want to forget to mention it for those that don’t live here. We just love the lake area. Our town is filled with so many families and it is the perfect place to raise a family.
