Gone are the days when my husband and I would go out on Friday nights.  These days, we rent a movie or find something to watch on TV.  Well- this week we were watching documentaries on well-know people and a company that we love popped on.   It was about Newman’s Own.   I had to share this because I was really impressed.

Did you know that the Newman’s Own gives  all profits to charity and then dispense it to charities throughout the U.S and around the glob.  That is over $400 million so far, since 1982.   Amazing, right?  I think so!

A box of Newman\'s Own pizza.

That is what made me think to write a post of all of my go-to dinners when time is crunched, because Newman’s Own Pizza is one of them.

Here goes:

1). Pizza.

Would my kids eat pizza every night?  Yes.   haha!   We have pizza once a week, usually on Friday or Saturday.   I love it because it is all natural, high quality and uses the finest ingredients.  The kids love it because it’s great tasting!    We bought the Margarita pizza, but they also have Four Cheese and Pepperoni.   The kids love all of them.

2). Salad.

I like to add black beans and taco meat to ours to make a quick taco salad.

3.  Sandwiches.

It doesn’t have  to be a boring sandwich- spice it up a little.  Make a southern grilled cheese sandwich or make a chicken sandwich (I like to sprinkle dried rosemary onto a cooked chicken breast and put it on a biscuit.)

4.  Chicken, sliced really thin, with some sea-salt and pepper, grilled on a flat top.    I just throw a bag of frozen vegetables in the microwave and its dinner in ten minutes.

5. Pasta

There is no limit to what you can do with pasta.  Throw in some veggies, olive oil, chicken and spices and you have a meal.

TIP:  I cook my pasta ahead of time and then freeze it.  I just have to microwave it when I want to use it.

Have a few frozen dinners ready to go. If you cook larger meals, you can easily freeze half of the portion and when one of these nights come along, you just have to heat one up and you are all set to go- full dinner in just a few minutes.

2). Sandwiches- I don’t know why Sandwiches are considered a lunch food. They are healthy and filling. (Meat, spinach leaves, tomato or any other veggie for a topping and carbohydrates…) I make sandwiches every once in a while for a quick dinner on the go (our kids love these nights!).

3). Salad- just throw together a salad and add a can of rinsed/drained black beans for some added protein.
