Wondering how to lose 30 pounds in 2 months?  Or 15 pounds in a month?

I normally don’t write about weight-loss. Today, however, I felt like I wanted to tell you about this, because we feel better and we want you to feel better, too. 🙂

how to lose 30 pounds in 2 months

One day, Mickey decided that he was tired of being tired. He had always been an athlete (I watched him play basketball, track & football throughout high school & college), but this was different. Ever since his back surgery a few years back, he was slowly putting on weight. It was never a lot, but it was enough that he didn’t feel good anymore.

So… He started using this diet plan.
It starts out with a week of low-fat keto and then reintroduces foods to your body, but shows you how and when to eat them so you can continue to LOSE weight.   Everything is planned for you and I’ve never heard of ANYONE trying it and not shedding fat… it’s kind of a given: if you follow the plan, you lose unwanted weight.

To support him, I knew that I needed to do it with him. Have you ever tried to diet while your spouse, roommate, friend… was eating ice cream in front of you? It makes it next to impossible.

The good news is that it paid off. Really.

Here he was 6 weeks in, at 28 pounds lost:

He ended up losing even more and by two months, Mickey lost about 30 pounds.  He really did great & stuck to the new way of eating.  We both feel way better. You know how sometimes you just need a jump-start to get back onto the road of eating healthy or doing better? That’s what this was for us. 🙂

We have always worked out, but until our diets changed, we never saw or felt a real change.

Now, I will say that I think that the key to losing weight while eating cleaner & higher protein is to be sure to watch your calories.   I’ve seen friends go straight to clean eating & gain ten pounds.  Clean eating can really rack up the calories.  (ex: nuts, almond butter, etc… all have a LOT of calories and fat, so you have to eat much less to still be in your normal range).   That’s why you need to have a plan that explains it & tells you what to do.

Anyway, the difference from eating better is huge. I’m not even kidding. Mickey and I both have more energy and feel better. (Our stomachs feel better, our focus is more clear, our energy is higher… and the kids feel better, too.) Mickey said that his knees don’t hurt anymore (yay!), which is great because he has had ELEVEN surgeries now (thank you, football), so I was really dreading #12.

I’m not going to lie that I don’t still eat a cookie when I make them for the kidsbut we make them with better ingredients & they still taste great. I also won’t say that I don’t drink a diet coke every day (no need to lecture me on this one either… lol. I know it’s awful, but I promise it is better than the several that I was having. ahh!).

The kids are feeling better, too (yep- they are eating clean & they don’t know it!) We are doing about an 80/20 ratio with them (80% clean, 20% not). It is way easier than I thought it would be.

  1. I have a question regarding the weight loss program as well. I am lactose intolerant and find that too many recipes include a bunch of dairy. I can’t and neither can my kids eat absolutely any dairy. Before I pay I want to ensure that the recipes included aren’t dairy based.

    1. There are a few that have dairy, but you could just take the dairy out. (Ex: sprinkle cheese on top, etc…) Most actually don’t include any dairy.
