Did you know that science is showing that families should get a dog? It’s true.
Thanks to Espree for sponsoring this post.
Check out these studies that I found that prove that dogs benefit kids:
STUDY #1: A study at the University of Florida said that kids that completed a public-speaking task and an arithmetic task with an without a dog nearby. Those students with the dog did better and were less stressed than those who did not have a dog.
STUDY #2: A study by the University of Missouri found that kids with autism were more likely to engage in social settings when they had a pet. They were more likely to talk, introduce themselves, ask questions, and answer questions.
STUDY #3: A study that was published in Microbiome found that when children were born into a house that had a dog, they had higher levels of gut microbes. These gut microbes help to protect against allergies and obesity.
STUDY #4: A study in South Africa said that children who read to a dog for twenty minutes a week had a higher reading rate, accuracy, and comprehension.
We knew that we wanted a dog once we had kids. Little did we know that at times, he would think he WAS a kid (like the time that I ran a bath for the kids & walked in to find he had helped himself to the tub when I left the room to get the kids!).
I think he makes us laugh daily. We love having a dog for our family. It’s amazing to see how much a relationship with a dog can make a difference in a child’s life. It means that taking care of our dogs is an important task. Not only are we caring for them because they become a part of our family and we love them, but the impact that they have on our children is so important, as well.
We need to make sure that we are taking care of our pets by meeting their basic needs: food and shelter. We also need to take care of them when they cannot. Dogs cannot brush their teeth, so it’s up to us to help in that area. Even a dog’s breath tells a story: it is more than simply bad breath – it’s typically a sign of a more serious oral health issue which impacts the overall health and well-being of a pet. Did you know that taking care of a pet’s teeth will help the pet live a longer, healthier and happier life? It’s true. We use Espree Natural Oral Care gels and sprays for our dog. It has been proven to remove plaque and tartar within 14-30 days. It improves overall oral health. Espree is the #1 trusted brand in the pet grooming category as a Natural, Wholesome Pet Care brand.
I like Espree’s natural blend of peppermint oil, grapefruit seed extract, grape seed extract, thyme oil, and neem oil. It not only freshens breath instantly, but it removes plaque and tartar and supports healthy gums.
No brushing required. Their veterinarian formulated Pet Dental Cleaning Gel is proven to remove dog tartar & plaque all without a toothbrush. Find more info here.
