This pizza hack for kids is so much fun!  This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ellio’s Pizza for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

This week, the kids wanted pizza for lunch (surprise, surprise!)    So we decided to change things up a bit!     I love fun and quick ideas for on-the-go foods, but this one was their favorite of all!   It is fast and the kids LOVED it.

Pizza cut into kid friendly shapes.

I bought Ellio’s pizza, because of its long-standing consistent taste for over 5 decades  without preservatives.  They are made with real ingredients, like 100% real cheese, with no preservatives or flavors.   Ellio’s is quick and easy for any meal because it cooks in just a few minutes.
So, here is what I did… I cooked the pizza (at 425 for 11 minutes on the rack).   Then I moved them right onto a cutting board.   I let the kids each pick out some of their favorite cookie cutters and I cut them for the kids.

They loved them (their favorite shape was the duck.)
Here is a picture that gives you more of a step by step…

They had such a good time helping me cut the Ellio’s Pizza into fun bites.   (You can find Ellio’s Pizza with the Ellio’s Pizza Store Locator)

This was something that we are going to have to do more often.  Our kids seriously LOVED it.

TIP: It is to best to wait until the pizza has cooled, but not too cool (when it was cooled completely, it was hard to cut.)

TIP: Metal Cookie cutters work much better than the plastic cookie cutters (to get through the crust.)

All in all- it went over great and they have asked me to do this every time that we have eaten pizza since this first time.   They’ll never eat “triangle” or “square” or “rectangle” pizza again… haha!

A few other ideas:

Our daughter loves princesses, so for her birthday we are going to buy crown cookie cutters and do Ellio’s pizza crowns for the dinner part of her party.   (Check out our alternative to goody bags for a party!)  We are going to use the same cookie cutters to make cookies to eat after the pizza.   I can’t wait!
