For our nieces fourth birthday party, we decided to go all out!  She invited 7 girls (ages 4-8, plus our daughter… age two) for a “Girls can be Engineers too!” party!  She really wants to do what her brother can do.   She wants to build.  She wants to create.  She wants to run.  She wants to get messy!     And so…. she did!

For her party we planned a LOT of fun activities that are geared towards boys, because girls can be engineers, too!

This whole party was inspired & sponsored by GoldieBlox for a few reasons…

We had all of the materials that we needed…

Everything came, packaged SO nicely, in the mail (I shared it on Instagram- click on the picture below to be taken to my Instagram photo!):

AND WE HAD THIS KIT: (among others)

We were ready to get started…

We started the party with the GoldieBlox set.  We let them build and create.
Here is our daughter digging right in!

Another little girl (5 years old) made an awesome car and then let our daughter push it around and pose for the picture!

The girls had a blast trying to create what the kit was made for…

…but also just creating whatever their hearts desired!  They were CREATIVE!

They loved listening to the story, GoldieBlox and the Parade Float. (I read it before they got started and then again as they were building.

They each made up their own names… “GoldieBlox, PinkyBlox, PurpleyBlox”  It was hilarious!

party 9

We stopped to eat snacks:  A GoldieBlox Boat  filled with fruit

My sister in law made this adorable boat out of a watermelon and I just took a piece of paper and made a little black border out of electrical tape and taped it to a toothpick (coming out of the bottom of the picture).  I stuck it right into the watermelon.  It is a picture of Goldie from Goldieblox (more on her in a minute!)
For the purple picture, I just taped a picture (printed from their website) onto a piece of cardboard.

Next, we moved to the back porch.  The kids got messy with sand art!   Each child was given a different ‘shape’ or ‘animal’ to fill…

party 2

After we had fun with the sand art, we took the party outside for two more games!
Lucky for my niece, they live next door to an elementary school, so they were able to use the parking lot and playground for the rest of the party.

First, the kids rode on bikes (they each brought their own bikes!)

party 4

Next they ”drove their cars” and had a race!  (My sister in law is the one in orange in the back!  She made these adorable cars out of boxes!
ps- My brother majored in math and my sister-in-law majored in biology in college, so math and science are second nature and they encourage their son AND daughter to think like Scientists, Mathematicians and Engineers!)
party 11

It really was SUCH a fun party!  We had a blast!  It lasted about 2 1/2 hours and these girls built, created, drove & made messes like no other!

Now, because these girls asked their parents to have the GoldieBlox sets at home (and because these moms all said that they wanted them, too), we have decided to have a GIVEAWAY today!

We are giving away a fantastic prize pack that contains two GoldieBlox products: the Dunk Tank and the Parade Float.   Just leave a comment below telling me what your daughter loves to create (or enter using the rafflecopter box that is located right below this image)

My daughter, Stela, would love this set, we use to buy her dolls, but realized she would rather create, some examples are when she used blocks to build a lone tower, a castle, and a bridge. She has a LARGE imagination.
