A first aid kit for a car with text above it.

Summer can be a fun time of year and I love it. I love having the kids home from school for three months. I love having unscheduled boat rides and impromptu play dates!

This is also the time of year- bee stings, knee scrapes, and all sorts of other ‘ouchies’ that come along with summertime! Yes, summer is first ice cream, first splash, and FIRST AID!

Our favorite “FIRST” is always taking our kids on their first boat rides on our local lake. The way that their little life jackets seem to take up most of their tiny frames and the way that they fall asleep during that first ride (they have each been infants for their first trips). We even recently let our older kids have a FIRST try at tubing and they loved it!

Another fun family first is the first time eating each of our kids ate corn on the cob, mostly because it makes for some adorable photos!

I wanted to share a little tip that we have been using in our house (well, car) for a few years. It started with my friend, Jeanie. One day we were at a picnic with friends and our youngest son fell and cut his knee. We couldn’t get into the building nearby, but thankfully my friend had Puracyn® OTC Wound & Skin Care spray in your first-aid kit with her. The non-sting formula in Puracyn® OTC Wound & Skin Care is free of antibiotics, steroids and alcohol so kids won’t complain and there’s no need for messy ointments or even running water; it’s great for on-the-go.

Spray Puracyn® OTC Wound & Skin Care on a cut or scrape, apply a bandage and you’re all set – it thoroughly cleans and washes away dirt and debris without the need to touch or rub the skin.

So, today I wanted to show you how to make your own First Aid Kit to keep in your car:

What you need:

Plastic shoe box (or any sort of small box or even a zip-up bag)

Bandages

Puracyn®

First aid pack that you can shake to make it cold.

Children’s medication: Pain reliever and an allergy/anti-itch medication. (optional)

Here is the one that I have through Puracyn®

Having a first aid kit will let you enjoy your fun summer ‘firsts’ without having to stop to worry about those little mishaps! Now- how about a fun giveaway to help you enjoy your sum mer? What about an outdoor party? Or a fun road trip or even an outdoor adventure? You can win one of these (valued at $400).

  1. Great post.
I really need to get these because it would make it so much easier to just throw that little bottle in my purse.

  2. First aid kit is necessary in every car. Accidents may happen anytime on roads. It’s always safe to carry a first aid kit with us.
