These High Protein Crazy Banana Muffins are perfect for before school or before practice.  Our kids just aren’t big breakfast eaters, but they will eat a muffin or two in the morning and they love to eat these before football, soccer or wrestling practice. They like my favorite banana bread with whipped honey butter, too, but these muffins have a lot of protein, so I try to pick that option.

High Protein Crazy Banana Muffins

It takes a lot of energy, strength & stamina to play these games…  so I want to be sure that they are eating REAL food with a lot of protein.   These muffins are just that.

They are high-protein and they have NO butter, sugar or milk.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a small bowl, hand- mix all ingredients together
  • Place muffin liners in each holder of a 12 count muffin tray and then spray a light coat of a nonstick cooking spray.
  • Fill each muffin tin around 2/3 of the way full, until you are out of batter.
  • Place the tray in the center rack of the oven and allow to cook for 12 min.

Tips:

  • Add chocolate chips to make them tastier for the kids
  • Make mini muffins and they will be able to just pop them in & go. 😉
  • Serve them warm and they are… oh so good!

Enjoy.  These are delicious.  I’ll warn you… if you eat one, you won’t be able to stop.   Seriously.   We made them at 9:00 pm and I’ve had four in the past hour.   Looks like I may need to make another batch for the week. 😉

  1. I’d love to make these for my toddler but I’m not keen on using protein powders with him. Do you think that ingredients is 100% necessary? Thanks!

    1. Nope. 🙂 I’d do it without the protein powder (or you can use toddler formula- the “next step” formula. I’ve done that before for our toddlers. 🙂

      1. Do you think adding 4 tablespoons of floor is necessary as a replacement for the protein powder? I’m just worried it will be “wet”.

  2. What is the exact measurement of the protein powder? I have another brand of protein powder and want to make sure “scoop” is the same. Thanks!

      1. When you click on the link for the brand she uses, it has a picture of the label, which says 1 scoop = 33 grams 🙂

    1. No – I don’t have one. I’m sorry! can you copy & paste it to Word?

    1. I’d like to know too. Where can I find the nutritional value per serving ? What’s the serving size? Carbs? Sugar? Etc? These seem amazing for my high protein diet but need know for sure! Thanks for this amazing recipe! Hugs

    1. Turned out awesome, thank you. I cut the recipe in 1/2 for a trial. Here are the macros I came up with incase anyone was wondering. 143 cals, 13gr Carbs, 6gr Fat, 12gr Protein

  5. My son And my husband don’t like peanut butter could I use almond butter instead?

  6. Hi! Can you confirm the amount of baking powder? Is 4 teaspoons correct for one batch?

    1. That’s what we used, but you can cut it back to 1 tablespoon

  7. Can I use 3 whole eggs instead of 1 cup of egg whites and 2 eggs?

  8. Made these last night and they are excellent. Two notes but my experience: 1. You must go heavy on your cupcake liners with your Pam spray or they will stick; 2. I had to cook mine for an extra five minutes because they were nowhere near done at the 12 minute mark.

  9. Ideas for egg substitution? Have used egg replacer but some muffins are crumbly with it
