I think that we have stumbled on the best summer birthday party idea! This year, for our son’s birthday, we weren’t sure what to do… roller skating, bowling, playground, bike party?
We finally decided to have a party at home with a gift for our kids. This was the BEST party that we’ve had so far and our kids loved it so much!
We went with the “imaginations in motion” theme because we wanted to have a party that was a gift that will continue to give all summer long by letting the kids be active and use their imaginations.
(The birthday boy is the one in orange)
For the party, we blew up the Little Tikes Rocky Mountain River Race Inflatable Waterslide from Toys R Us. It was AMAZING to say the least. So the best part (to me) was that even without the water, the kids had a blast. They played on it for about three hours (not even kidding) until the party started and we finally put the water on. They played on it for another two hours during the party and an extra hour after the party, before we had to tell them that it was time to be done.
We only let a couple of kids on at a time, while the rest played at the bottom in the pool of water.
They stopped to have a little “Dukes of Hazard” cake and ice cream…
They loved every second of using this slide and the did it all over again the very next day.
Ps- If you are wondering how it works, here is a picture of the back – you just put the stakes into the ground and it comes with a blower to fill it up. The tubes that you see are for water.
Do you want to WIN $50 to put towards a birthday party of your own? Its simple…

We will be moving to NYC soon and it would be a dream to take our four year old to see the Lion King on Broadway for his birthday. We would probably have a little lion or safari party with our small friends.
Oh how awesome!
Boy I can see my twins loving this! Their Bday last year, we went to the river and we rode papa’s boat and tubed!!
Oh that sounds like so much fun!
My daughter’s birthday is in 3 weeks. We are having a Candy Land theme complete with a traditional Candy Land game for all the kids to play. There will be Dum Dum sucker trees, a butterfly cake with candy as the different colors on the butterfly, cotton candy in bags as decorations and balloons wrapped in cellophane to look like candy. Outdoor games like bean bag toss, potato sack races, and twister will keep the kids happy and playing for hours I am sure! Party favors will include tie dyed tshirts that the kids make together so there is something cool for friends to take home.
sounds adorable!
