Mornings are rushed. Four kids. One dog. One Cat. Two hands. That’s how it goes, right.. fun, but rushed. Most of you know that I go to the gym in the morning and come home with around 15 minutes to spare before the kid’s 7:00 kid wake-up time. That means that I have to shower & get ready quickly. This is why I have my 5 hairstyles that are my go-to styles.

First off, remember that healthy hair starts from the scalp. You can’t have your styles looking great if you don’t take care of your hair first. I use Head & Shoulders Green Apple Shampoo on my hair. I have been using Head & Shoulders for about 15 years now. While we are talking about hair, here are a few Head & Shoulders myths that I’d like to talk about…

1- Daily use dries out hair. NOT true.
2- Daily use damages hair. NOT true.
3- Products will fade color-treated hair. NOT true. I have never colored my hair, but plenty of my friends have and they’ve confirmed this is not true. 😉

When I use the Head & Shoulders shampoo, I keep it on for around 5 minutes (they say to use it from 3.5-6 minutes) for the smoothest look (shiny, smooth, flake-free thanks to pyrithioxine zinc [which gets rid of dandruff] and healthy). Plus, the peppermint oil feels cool on the scalp. (I love the smell of Head & Shoulders Green Apple Shampoo )

1. Elsa Braid.
This is my go-to quick hairstyle. I put my hair like this for the gym and really for any time when I need a quick look that is more than a ponytail. Here’s a video that I posted about a year ago to show you how quick it really is…

2. Side-swipe fish tail.
I love this one and I have only started doing this about a month ago.
Tip: loosen it towards the top by pulling the sides outward.

3. Knots.
I separate my hair into three parts and braid each one. Then I tie them into knots.I keep knotting them until they are tied as far as can be and then use a bobby pin to hold them into place, tucking in the ends.

4. Beach Waves.
Use a straightener and start in the middle of your hair. Twist one time around and then pull it out. Take the next section and go in the opposite direction to avoid them all running together and making one big wave.

5. Upside down knot.
Take your hair into your hand, like a pony-tail, and flip it up towards the top of your head. Pull half-through and secure. (sometimes I braid one side first, like in the picture below)

Ok… now off to spend two minutes fixing my hair for a busy day ahead. 😉 Check out the entire line of Head & Shoulders products on Amazon.

Hi there!

  1. I love Head and Shoulders! I also love that upside down knot. I usually have a similar hairdo, but will have to add the braid for a new twist!

  2. I usually sneak and use my husbands Head and Shoulders because I agree, it is good every once in while.

  3. Messy bun and decorate with bobby pins with beads. For a “fancy” , but quick look.

  4. I actually love Head and Shoulders, have used it off and on for years. Right now though, I just chopped all my hair off so I can’t pull any of the styles together. Maybe next year haha

  5. Are there any hair-do’s for shoulder length hair? I too love head and shoulders and have been using it for about 15 years. Thank you for the article.

  6. I need to learn this so bad to make myself feel better. After having the baby and loosing some hair now I have the hair starting to grow again and its a nightmare, even if I try to brush my hair it always look like I did not do anything.

  7. I’ve never tried Head & Shoulders, mostly because of the rumors that you have mentioned in your post. I will have to try it sometime though! I also love the quick hair-dos that you posted here! I can’t wait to try them out for myself!!
