Every week, I get to showcase some great ideas from Whimsy Wednesday, our link-up party. Earlier today, I shared my favorite pumpkin ideas (that didn’t involve carving faces into the pumpkins) and today I wanted to show you another favorite post from the link up…

This is comes from my dear friend, Hillary, at The Cole Mines. Her writing always touches my heart. Let me share just a little snippet of her post:
A mother holding her child closely with a big smile on her face.

Do I want to drink with them and go to parties and hear about them hooking up? No, quite the opposite. I want to instill in them a sense of self-respect and safety that they will carry with them through adulthood.

But do I want them to know that regardless of how mean this ol’ world is to them they always have their best friend waiting for them at home? Do I want them to know that even if they have a lapse in judgement with boys, alcohol, etc that they can talk to me and I won’t berate them and judge them? That I will wrap my arms around them and tell them they are loved?

Then yes…Yes I do.

But all it takes me is one time flipping through a Parents Magazine or watching a tv show to be told that in no uncertain terms should I be best friends with my child. Oh well…

Call me a Rebel With A Cause…

Now it is time for you to share your favorite posts! Share them over on my Facebook page, too, so others can see them, share them and pin them!
