My husband was off for a whole week- you know what that means- PROJECTS! He painted three rooms for me around the house:
1- Our oldest son’s bedroom (white to blue)
2- Our youngest son’s bedroom (white to a different color blue)
3- The ‘kid’ bathroom (again… white to blue. I love blue – they remind me of the ocean!)
The problem was that the bathroom that is closest to their room had a textured finish, so he really put off painting it, imagining the hassle that it would be. He kept telling me that it was might look bad (he is a perfectionist when it comes to painting) or that it would be too hard to do, so I did a little investigating and came across FrogTape Textured Surface. It is treated with the patented PaintBlock™ Technology, a super absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, which helps prevent paint bleed. The Liquid PaintBlock® Edge Sealer™ helps deliver super sharp paint lines, even on textured surfaces.
So, we ran to Lowes & picked some up (you can find it here)
Now for the HOW TO:
Another before shot:
To apply the tape, take it and put it where you need it:
Push it down to create a little seal using your hands (like you would any tape)
Now you create that block (it comes in the package):
That’s all there is to it!
And the “AFTER”… (Its actually a little lighter, but the camera seemed to darken it a bit)

We are in the plans to do the boys room in a pirates theme and it requires us to tape off certain areas to do it! I am excited to do it and the boys are thrilled!
Oh that sounds ADORABLE!!
I want to do some cool effect in the dining room. It’s pretty bland right now and I would love to try something interesting that I haven’t done before. Maybe a chevron effect?
That would be so pretty!
