When our kids were born, I made them a promise.
It wasn’t that I would take care of them (although that is just a no-brainer),
it wasn’t that I would love them (again- that goes without saying.)

No, when they were born, I made them the promise that I would always CARE about WHAT they were saying!

I would really listen to them.

I would stop what I was doing to hear them.

There are times when we are running late or when my patience is running thin and they will stop to pick up their 40th rock to add to their rock collection.   Those are the times when I want to say “No!  You don’t have time for that right now!”   but then I try to remember my promise.
They come to me, with such amazement in their eyes to show me this rock and how it looks just like a “pirate rock” and at that moment I have two choices:

Be engaged or Ignore them and rush them.

Which one would you rather YOUR mom did?

I know which one my Mom did and that is why I want to follow in her footsteps and do the same thing.

JOHNSON’S® , the company that we all know and love, isn’t any different.   They made a commitment to love our babies and to listen to us… and they did.    After they heard that some moms were concerned about the ingredients in their products, they made the decision to stand up and change their product formulas—not because of safety, but for peace of mind.   I mean- how great is that, to know that we are heard?!   To show their commitment to babies, they created a video that shares their promise and it is adorable!   It is based on a Japanese legend that folding 1,000 origami cranes will result in a wish granted and a hope fulfilled, our scientists came together with their families to create an origami stork mobile to show mom that her promise is our promise, too.

When I saw it, I thought about the promise that I had made and I knew that I had to show you, too.  You can see it here.

I
 love this idea!
I would love to do this with our kids- write down our promises to each other for the next few years and hang it somewhere for our family to see on a daily basis.   What a great reminder!   Watch this video to see what I mean…

Thank you for joining us to spread the word around this news! We hope that our video is near to your hearts as it is to ours.

With Care,

The JOHNSON’S® Baby Family

Key Messages:

  • JOHNSON’S® Baby always listens to moms and although our products have always been safe, we took a stand and changed our formulas to give moms peace of mind.

  • As the new products hit shelves, we are launching a heartfelt campaign called “Your Promise is Our Promise” as a way to express our ongoing commitment to moms. Just as moms make promises to their children, JOHNSON’S® Baby also makes promises so moms don’t have to worry about the products they use on their little ones.

  • To share this commitment, we’ve created an inspiring story through the “Our Promise” video, which can be viewed on YouTube, as an open letter to moms showing our scientists and their families coming together to build an origami stork mobile, symbolizing the delivery of our promise to always listen to moms.

  • This video concept was inspired by a Japanese legend that folding 1,000 origami cranes will result in a wish granted and a promise fulfilled, which is thought to be a big labor of love. Changing our products was our labor of love for moms and babies, but we used storks in our video because they represent the delivery of babies, and the hopes and promises of families.
