I am one of those people who loves all things related to organization, so as soon as Christmas is over that is naturally where my mind flows. Instantly, I want to jump into a new planner and implement some new organization strategies.

As moms, organization can tend to seem like an out of reach dream, but I do believe it is possible for all moms to be organized. The reason I believe this is possible is because there is a little key to keep in mind.

The key to remember is that organization looks different for everyone.  The reason people get frustrated about trying to get organized is that they are not embracing what organization looks like for them. Not everyone is going to thrive with color coded labels, and that is perfectly okay. You need to do what works for you and I need to do what works best for me. When we are living and using the gifts that God has given us, we are able to create our own organization system.

(1) Take some time and make goals. The goals do not need to be elaborate or deep, but make the time to do this. Last year, my husband and I sat down and made some goals together and I am excited to go over these again.  It can be simple, achievable goals, as long as they are what you want.

(2) Evaluate the past year. What worked well for your family? What changes do you want to implement? Are there areas that you want to grow in? Write these down and come up with ideas to make the changes.  New morning routine if your mornings didn’t go over so well?   Maybe you need to find a way to have toys in the living room, but not feel like your living room is overrun by toys?

(3) Embrace routines. Since your organization looks different than mine, your routines are going to look different than mine. With different seasons, different routines can work better than others. I have been learning to be flexible with my routines and adjust as needed.

Since I love organization so very much, I am going to be doing my own little organization challenge. I like to keep the clutter down in our house so I have been working on a game plan to do a home organization challenge. Organization can be a struggle for many, so I am planning to share some tips with you all near the end of January. Stay tuned to hear more about it!

What are some organization tips that work for you?
