I wanted to share a few ideas that I’ve done in the past.  Mickey and I aren’t big into buying big gifts, because we usually get something together (like a new camera, etc…)  However, I do like to do themed gifts.  Here are three theme gifts you might like

For the MUSIC LOVER:

Mickey loves music… he has for as long as I’ve known him.   I could take it or leave it myself.  When we are in the car, I’m just as happy to listen to talk radio, whereas talk radio would just put him to sleep.   Opposites attract, I guess.   This year I am surprising him with a “music basket” for Christmas, because he loves music and because it brings back memories…
Here is what was included:

1. Framed Lyrics from our wedding song:

2.  The CD that we listened to over & over in high school & college (I had it stored in our attic)
unknown

3. Old tickets from our first concert together:

4.   Then I put a note that says “And… you could be going on a 3 day, 2 night trip for you & three others to see a concert.”

Ps- To enter for him to win, I signed up at  www.axeplatinumpass.com.  When you register, you’re automatically entered for a chance to win a 3 day, 2 night trip for you and THREE friends to see a concert of a top, must-see artist, PLUS other exciting prizes like a Shawn Mendes ILLUMINATE digital album and much, much more.   It could be our lucky day (or yours!) Be part of the experience by signing up today!  A group of people in the dark with a stage light shining in front of them with text above them.

I also added an AXE Holiday Gift Pack from Walmart.  There are a lot of options for the holiday gift packs, filled with great products that can help you feel fresher & more confident.  (Just ask the kids… I let them test out the scents to see which one we should get Mickey and they walked around like they were the best-smelling kids in North Carolina.  It was hilarious.)

For the ATHLETE:

Mickey loves sports, but since his back surgery he doesn’t get to play as much as he used to. So, what to do you get for someone that loves sports but doesn’t play often? Again, put all of these things into a basket.

1- Gift card to their favorite golf course.
2- New football or basketball
3- A gift certificate that says “30 minutes of football with me!” and let your kids write it. 🙂

4- Golf ball & golf tees

For the CHEF:

Mickey also loves to cook, so trying to think of a few ideas for him for cooking is always fun and the kids love it. Here is what we have put in a “chef basket” in the past:
1- Cake mixes, bread mixes, etc…
2- Apron like this one from Notonthehighstreet.com:

4. Recipe book (we bought Mickey a grilling cookbook, but get whatever they are interested in).
5. Empty Recipe cards for his own recipes & put them into a photo album.

All in all, themed gifts are fun to make & fun to give.   In the meantime, check out all of these interviews & videos by so many artists, like this one:

  1. What a great list of ideas for Dad and or Husband this year.

I always have a hard time trying to figure out what to get my Husband but I do like your idea of a themed gift. My Husband and I have a lot of memories that could be framed or brought back out to remind us of our younger times together. Thank you for the post and the ideas.
