Our kids have loved making funny pictures of themselves since they were little.  In fact, about 5 years ago, I posted this post about how we print out pictures of the kids & let them draw on themselves for an easy and quick activity.

Recently, before heading out on a 6-hour road-trip, we decided to put those pictures into a photo book (AKA: laminate them) so that they could reuse the pictures the whole trip.
We printed off family pictures, pictures of the kids & even a picture of our dog and we put them into a photo book.  We bought dry-erase markers and let the kids draw to their heart’s content!   We did this for each of the kids (Beau liked it the most!).
It kept them busy and they kept showing each other what they drew.   Next time, I think that I will make it REALLY long with pictures of friends & relatives and even games like tic-tac-toe and hang-man.
I hope your kids love it as much as mine!
OH- ps…. do this for spelling words, too!  Print out their spelling words and let the kids trace them or write them under the word.   It’s an easy way to study for a test.
