“Mom? Coach isn’t eating today.” our son called to me, worried. So, what did I do? I worried about him, too, and then I added something into his food. I have found that anytime our family is going away on a trip, our dog seems to know about it days in advance. He stops eating unless I give him something really enticing.

I say that dogs make our lives better, but humans make their lives better, too. I mean… they love us so much that they are sad even before we go away.

I started talking to a few friends with pets and it turns out that a lot of them mix things into their dogs food (studies show that 2/3 of pet owners do this). These typical ‘mix-ins’ include cooked food, vegetables, flavor enhancers and table food. We finally found something that was a little more convenient than making him food every day. Did you know that Stella & Chewy makes a Meal Mixers to capitalize on the opportunity that exists to provide an easy solution for this existing ‘mix-in’ behavior?

Before we found it, Mickey was actually making him food once a week & freezing it. We would mix a little bit in every day. We just found out that all of Stella & Chewy’s products are packed with the wholesome raw ingredients dogs naturally crave. Pure proteins. Organic fruits and vegetables. Everything our dogs need to thrive, like the pure ingredients as nature intended. Grass-fed meat, cage-free poultry, wild-caught fish, organic fruits and vegetables. No grains and gluten, fillers, added hormones or antibiotics. Only the good stuff for our dog (and yours!)

1. Recent research on human-dog interactions shows that when we talk to our pets & pet a dog, we actually lower our blood pressure more than if we talk to another person. Interesting! (source: ncbi.gove)

2. Spending 15-30 minutes with your dog helps you to relax and increases happiness.

3. Kids with dogs have a lower risk of allergies & eczema, according to WebMD.

4. They have lower cholesterol than those without dogs (source: kwikmed)

5. Feeling sick? You’ll get better quicker when you have a dog relying on you to feel good.

6. One Michigan study found that dog owners were 34% more likely to achieve their recommended 150 minutes of exercise per week than those without dogs.

7. Pet owners reported having higher self-esteem, felt more conscientious, and even bounced back from social rejection better. (source: ncbi.gov)

8. They know when you are sick. Did you know that you can train a pet to sniff out cancer or know if someone is having a seizure or allergic reaction to nuts?

9. They just make us happier! (source: my family!)

Dogs have the wonderful ability to turn everyday moments into awesome ones. The same way Meal Mixers can turn everyday kibble into an awesome, even more nutritious meal.

  1. So cool. Steve & I’ve been married almost 25 years & never had a dog; neither of us grew up with a dog, either. Three weeks ago, we got a lab/border collie mix. What a change from “just a cat.” 🙂 We are enjoying the new puppy. He’s so funny. It’s so neat to know some of the other benefits.

  2. I’ve found that the simple act of petting my dog can be relaxing and can relieve stress!
